Uh-oh. Cue a Christian Cat post in 1 ... 2 ... 3 ...

Thanks OP

I needed a laugh

He also hopes that he and all of his loved ones will live in eternal paradise when the die, which seems significantly more likely.

ah man incoming 42 page thread about our lord and savior the floating noodle.

If you believe you're a Quarterback and you can't throw the football with accuracy on a consistent basis, you're not going to get a 5th opportunity.

Tebow should move to the CFL, work on his mechanics or enjoy his time in the media.

Tim Tebow still 'hoping' for another chance in NFL - NFL.com

Tim should model himself after Julian Edelman. Not necessarily WR, but another position. It's the only way he could possibly get onto an NFL team. IMHO.

I think for Tebow it really is NFL QB or bust. I think he'd rather be a college football analyst or do media than play another position. Personally, I don't think he'd make a roster at another position anyway.

He IS a QB...that is who he is and has always been...the media made up these "versatile" options because the lusted after his Q factor . He got a fair shot with the Pats..I went to camp and SAW a ton of his work. I broke down his throws for everybody and remarked on progress he was making and progress he was not. THAT is what did him in. He showed improvement and accuracy in the middle zone but he constantly threw to the left off the wrong foot and he had ZERO touch to the right sideline. I firmly believe he would STILL be in the league as a Patriot IF BB considered carrying three QB's. I believe he would have continued to make progress just as I saw the progress he DID make. His problem is the league is about NOW. He needs a ton of reps throwing outs to both sidelines from the pocket as well as on the run.He needs to see all the defensive looks teams throw at you today.

Timing seems to be his worst enemy...THIS is not the time for developmental QB's. If Goodell does go ahead and expands the schedule perhaps Tebow's value to an NFL team will come back into view. As of now he's dead as disco.

Hey, I am too hoping for my NFL career!

Guess that's two people being disappointed

If he wants to be a QB only he should have went to the CFL. He can't make it as an NFL QB with his current level of skill and experience. But he felt he was 'too good' for the other pro leagues that offered him a job.

I've seen several players from CFL transition successfully to NFL after 'proving' themselves at that level. I wonder who is giving this kid advice or if he just has too swelled a head to take that route.

It looks like Tim remains adamant about being a QB in the NFL. Now he may change his mind down the line and be open to switching positions, but at the moment he won't. I would love to see him do whatever it takes to get back in the NFL even if it means switching positions. However, it is up to him to decide whether he will switch positions or not. Either way he has my support regardless.

I can see both sides of the coin. I would love to see him be open to different positions so that he has a better shot of getting back into the NFL. I know if he switched position he would appease many people and get back in the NFL right away. However, that is not his dream. I only want Tim to be happy and follow his dreams. He has found something different to do that he enjoys even though it's not playing QB in the NFL and that's okay. Nonetheless, I admire his determination sticking to his guns and following his dreams even in the face of adversity because what matters most is that Tim is happy. God Bless Tim! :)

Tebow is a tough runner who should develop his receiving skills.

Great post... thanks for the inside info. While I do think he could have at least attempted to expand his repertoire, you're dead on... this is the league not searching for Mr. Right... but searching for Mr. Right Now.

He's done exactly what he needed to do -- rebuild his throwing mechanics. Now he needs reps to put it into a football context with timing.

He's still got a shot. It's not like the third-string QB's in this league don't have issues. He has some very specific reasons to be a good candidate for a project:

1. Good NFL body -- the upside is there on size, speed, strength, arm strength.
2. Good winning intangibles, work ethic and attitude.
3. Could be a "change up" that wins you some games if the starter goes down. With a package of about 10 plays (with audibles), he could eke you out some wins until the starter comes back.

You're much more generous than I. I doubt if all the practice reps in the world can help a guy whose mechanics evaporate in live action. You'll recall how deliberately perfect his throwing motion was during warmups and then during the game (Pats' last preseason tilt) he went back to winding up from his hip. That should've been corrected in high school. Tebow is a great person, a great competitor. But something is off about his mental processing that no amount of reps or coaching can correct, and that's why he'll never make it as an NFL quarterback.

Tebow is an egomaniac nut. If he wanted to play QB he would go to the CFL, but the guy doesn't want it. Good riddance, he's a hypocrite anyway.

He doesn't go to the CFL because he knows that if he bombs there, it's over. The whole "Timmy just needs a chance" meme dies and with it his endorsements.

His throwing motion is a metaphor for his mind. He processes things on the field very slowly. Stares down receivers and doesn't see the field. He can work on mechanics all day, it's futile. Doesn't mean he's stupid, just not a quick thinker. He might be great at diagramming a play on a blackboard, but on the field, it's a different story.

Also no evidence he can play another position competing with guys who've played it for a dozen years or so.

He needs to keep up the mystique of "The fire still burns inside of TIMMY!" though. Helps keep the money rolling in.
