Who ran for 157 yards. Grogan threw 4 picks, and the Pats lost 24-14. Wasn't really that close. Only highlight: a Ray Clay KO return for a TD. Still a fun day with dad. :)

And you?

Oh wow! Same game! I know my first game was either in 1976 or 1977, but I clearly remember a Clayborn KO return for a TD, and that's the only 1976 or 1977 game that fits the bill.

My second game was the 1978 game against Buffalo where NE clinched their first-ever AFCE title. There was the safety Buffalo took that cut their 3 point lead to a single point (can't remember if it was intentional because they were so backed up, or if the punt was botched). Then NE drove off the free kick (don't remember if it was a good drive or if Buffalo gave up a good return on the freek kick) and Posey kicked through a short FG that gave NE the winning margin.

First Game in Schaefer Stadium, preseason against the Oakland Raiders. HS kid who bought season tickets in the End zone for $45.

Took my cousin from London who was visiting the States.

1986 vs. Bengals. Pats were on a seven game winning streak and scored at least 20 points in every game. So what happens? Boomer Esiason throws for 300yds, the Bengals rush for almost the same and the Pats lost 31-7.

That added great context to the MNF Pats/Phins session finale with the Bengals looking forlorn when Grogan to Morgan late put the Pats in and the Bengals out of the playoffs.

Regards,
Chris

2008 in Seattle. Pats won a nail bitter of a game. I was pretty bummed I didn't see Brady play, but I still enjoyed watching Bruschi, Vrable, Welker, and Moss.

1963 in Fenway Park, a 7-6 loss to the Chargers. Lance Alworth scored the game's only touchdown with Gino kicking two field goals for us.

2003 in Houston.

My friend and I were sitting in level 700 in the endzone, only one row above us in the entire stadium, and it's filled with Bethel Johnson's family, who was making his first start that day.

We basically dominated but one mistake after another had us trailing late until a great Pats drive ended with Brady throwing a TD pass to Daniel Graham on 4th down to bring it to OT.

Back and forth in OT, the Texans are driving towards us at the Pats 35, I'm getting pretty worried, when McGinest blows up Domanick Davis in the backfield for a 5 yard loss. The Pats get the ball back, march down the field and Vinatieri makes the game winner, after having a rough day up to that point. (which turned out to be quite poetic of how the Super Bowl would go later that year at Reliant)

i would have loved to be there much more before then 30 october 2005

Gillette Stadium: Buffalo Bills @ Ne Patriots
Sunday Night

what an experience...i was with 3 friends of mine season ticket holders since a lot...

we had a amazing tailgate outside the stadium, quite cold temperature

pity that i was unable to come before @ Foxboro Stadium in the late '70-'80...

but better late then never...
:)

My first game.....
December - 1975 - The Patriots lost 34-14 to Buffalo
OJ Simpson rushed for 185 yards

The game I remember most....
The Opening game of 1979 vs the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The game was on Labor day & the gates opened at noon and the kickoff
was at 9pm.

I have never seen so many fights in the parking lot before a game.

I remember the same 2 guys fighting and rollling down the rows of aluminium
bench seats and people kicking them during the game.... Thirty minutes later the same two guys came flying bye again rolling over the seats as people kicked them.
I guess they had the 70's hockey rule in affect - 3 fights and you are out.

The Patriots lost the game in overtime, but it was a hell of a day all around.

'92, late season game vs NYJ. 2nd victory of season in 2-14 year, something like as 24-3 W behind John Stephens carrying the ball.

QB match up was Hugh Millen (LOL! pre Bledsoe, following yr) vs Glenn Foley, cold rainy day where Pats dominated.

Friday night game in Fenway in 1964. The guy my father worked for was one of the original investors in the team - we got to use the tickets once or twice a year. Seats were always right on the fifty yard line.

Gino Cappelletti kicked a 40 yard field goal with one second left to beat the Oilers 25-24. I remember a priest sitting right behind us who spent the night sipping from his flask while cussing out Patriot coach Mike Holovak. That made quite an impression on a nine year old kid.

That's wild, man. The only other things I remember were that it was unusually cold for early November, and that I was glad Dad brought seat cushions, because those benches stunk.

I had one other game at the old stadium... in 2000 against the Jets. Vinny whipped us pretty good, and Drew threw at least one pick, but that wasn't the worst. My brother in law, a HUGE Jets fan, invited me to the game... he had tickets for me and my sons... I made the mistake of wearing a green Land Rover shirt to the game. Pats fans seeing me driving through the tailgate area with him in HIS Jets gear ASSUMED I was a Jets fan too. I feared for my life. LOL

November 19, 1995. Colts @ Patriots. IND won 24-10. I remember Marshall Faulk having a good game and Bledsoe not so much.

On my first trip to Fenway, I didn't sit on top of the Green Monster--I sat in front of it.

Patriots vs. Chargers. 1965 or 1966.

1989 at the old stadium vs Houston. My father took me on divorced dad's Sunday. Flutie Magic lead the Pats to a 10 point victory over the favored Houston Oilers and Warren Moon. Flutie outplayed Moon that day...

Oct 22nd, 2000. Brady's rookie year. They lost to the Colts in Indy 30-23. After the game I got some autographs on my Ty Law jersey. Bledsoe, Milloy and some kid named Tom Brady :rocker:

Ah, Fenway and bleacher endzone seats. Flasks were everywhere. Remember a broken bottle fight breaking out around me. At 19 I was oblivious to danger and just kept watching the game.

2001 where it was either Brady's second or third start. It was against a Doug Flutie led Chargers I think.

I remember everyone I went with being upset to have to watch the backup QB play (!)

I wasn't a football fan at that point, just went along with some friends. It turned out to be one of the most fascinating seasons and I was hooked by the end.

I'm not sure I would've became a football fan if it was some 8-8 season where there wasn't so much intrigue.

That was a great game... I was listening on the radio driving from CT to ME... Brady's first comeback. :)

Around 1975. Dont remember much, except that it was a breakout game for Andy Johnson. He had been drafted as a QB, I think, but converted to RB, and in this game he had over 100 yds rushing for the first time. Went on to have a decent year (and career) as a RB.
