This is a preliminary look at how our depth chart would could look right now. I put Browner at safety but obviously, he could be at cornerback, which we will not find out until camp. We have some holes that need to address – interior offensive line, tight end, depth at defensive end, depth at running back, depth at linebacker, and if Wilfork released, we will have a hole in the defensive line that will need immediate attention. Overall the team is looking very good.

Offense
QB – Brady, Mallett
RB – Ridley, Bolden, Gray
3rd down RB – Vereen
FB – Develin
X-WR – Dobson, LaFell, Slater, Thompkins, Harrison, Orton
Y-WR – Edelman, Amendola, Boyce, Dunn
Y-TE – Gronkowski, Hoomanawanui
F-TE – Williams
LT – Solder, Devey, Mattes
LG – Mankins, Kline
OC – Cave
RG – Connolly, Barker
RT – Vollmer, Cannon

Defense
LDE – Ninkovich, Buchanan
DT – Kelly, Jones (94), Armstead, Vellano
NT – Wilfork, Siliga, Fortson
RDE – Jones (95), Bequette
SOLB – Hightower, White
MLB – Mayo, Beauharnais
WOLB – Collins, Davis (49)
LCB – Revis, Ryan, Green
RCB – Dennard, Arrington
FS – McCourty, Harmon, Wilson (27)
SS –Browner, Wilson (24), Ebner, Davis (36)

Special Teams
K – Gostkowski
P – Allen
LS – Aiken

Browner is a CB, we also haven't played LCB/RCB in about 1.5 years.

Like I said, he could play cornerback and he could play safety, which will be hard to determine until we see them on the field, so I have that as TBD personally. The LCB, RCB thing is based on the fact that generally the best outside WR lines up on the strong side of the offense which would be to the right of the QB, it is not written in stone.

The Patriots have Revis listed as the LCB on their website’s depth chart.

You could just as well list Browner as a LB. After all, we need one of those.

I agree that we will see where Browner will play. I suggest that we won't know until Game 5. Obviously, lots of packages will be tried in camp and the preseason.

Seriously, Browner is not ready to be put out to pasture because he isn't good enough at CB.

We should celebrate the fact that we are very, very strong at corner. Revis/Browner is a MAJOR upgrade over Talib/Dennard.

Wow, you really have a way of starting every post with an asinine comment. It is impossible to see any value in what you post when you start it out with that type of statement just so you know. I would be more inclined to give what you have to say consideration if you did not start it by trolling. Just some food for thought, but I have asked you about five times in the past 24 hours to layoff that nonsense but you instead it appears you have doubled down. If it continues I will have to approach Ian and ask him if it would be possible to bypass the MOD ignore restriction because as I have said you are making my experience on this board unpleasant and I am not interested in confrontation.

Browner entered the NFL as a safety; he would be excellent in coverage against tight ends, etc. I put him there but I also commented that he could be a cornerback and we will see in camp. Playing safety does not mean you have been sent out to pastor, Devin McCourty was more than capable of playing corner at a high level but the team benefited more with him at safety and if the team feels the same to be true for Browner it is very likely he will line up at safety.

Fair enough.

I will join the club. I will stop responding to any of our posts. I will also "ignore" them.

MG do I ever respond to you with a comment that is a passive aggressive or direct shot at you, I keep it to the facts of the situation I do not try to insult you or make you look stupid, I do not ever act like I am superior to you. I show you respect and keep it to the topic. That is all I am asking you to do, but instead you come back and imply that there is a club of posters who ignore me, which is odd because my posts probably are quoted more than any other poster on this board so apparently it is not that big of club. If you cannot reciprocate with the same level of respect that I show you than it is best that you join that club, because the current interactions we are having are not working for me at all. I would prefer that you put aside your personal jihad you have against me that motivates you to quote everything I say in disagreement and attempt to make me look bad or drop an insult or two in the process, but if you cannot do that then please do ignore more. I have attempted to PM you to figure out exactly what your issue is with me but you do not accept PMs so that is why we are having this conversation in a thread.

This post is exactly what I do not like about your posts, you make comments that are just blatantly rude and intended to belittle or insult, that is not necessary I have never done anything to you. It is very disappointing that a difference in an opinion on a player motivates such anger and hatefulness amongst some of the posters in here that is unnecessary. In a world filled with anti-bullying campaigns a group of adults in a football forum should all conduct ourselves better (I include myself as I have been guilty of crossing the boundaries in the past) than we do.

Not bad, I think this is pretty close to what most people would project. Of course the draft and training camp will shake things up.

I personally would start Amendola (if healthy) of Edelman in base packages. If Wilfork and Kelly stick around and are healthy, they're starting. Browner would start across from Revis at CB once his suspension is over.

Somebody has their panties in a bunch. Really ... so sorry you feelings are hurt. Grow up man.
BTW, Browner himself has said the team has not even discussed the
possibility of him playing Safety but he would do what every they want.
Not saying it couldn't happen but it is the least likely scenario at present. IMO.

Edelman had 121 receptions in the regular and post-season combined, Amendola has 125 total receptions in the last three seasons combined including playoff games. I think that Edelman is just coming into his own, has a good relationship with Brady, they are already working out together this offseason (even before he signed). That is just my opinion, but I respect you opinion and appreciate the feedback, I agree with the rest.

Why wouldn't you just mind your own business? You make a comment about panties in a bunch and then tell me to grow up, do you know how foolish that sounds? There is nothing immature or childish about what I said. If anything it was a mature and proper way to address a ongoing confrontation.

I know what Browner said and that is why I said in my post that he could play CB but I put him there for now until we see how it shakes out in camp.

Why Cave over Connolly at Center? Cave is noted to have issues with
a bull rush. Also, has he even started in the NFL at that position?
If they had to go today I could see Connolly at Center and Cannon at RG.
Also I've seen projections that Barker is ahead of Cave for option at center.

Brandon Browner is a cornerback in his prime. I would really hate to see him playing safety. I doubt BB will for at least 2 years.....

Belichick puts the best players on the field. On the OL, that means Solder, Mankins, Connolly, Cannon and Vollmer. The rest are far behind.

That being said, I think that we need another starting quality veteran plus a top draftee to compete for interior line jobs this year and into the future.

Could a UDFA start? Sure, it's possible. I would put Kline as the best of the bunch, and the one with a chance to be a Game Day backup.

Edelman is most certainly starting over Amendola (not even close). If Edelman starts over Welker the first couple games of 2012, he will be starting over Amendola in 2014.

Spreadsheet was a little off the mark IMO, some guys were overrated as pretty good and some guys were underrated as just solid.

The dark green (or blue chip players) would be Brady, Gronk, Revis.

Pro Bowl players are Solder, Vollmer, Mankins, Mayo, Gost, and McCourty.

Pretty good would be Ridley, Vereen, Wilfork, Kelly, Siliga, Hightower, Collins, Dennard, Ryan, and Arrington.

Rest of the roster is either solid or below average.

Browner IS A CB. If you say otherwise, your credibility is shot.

Cave is the only player on the roster listed as a center so I just went with him for now. I want to see how the remainder of UFA and the draft shake out before I started moving players around. I do agree with your thoughts for the record though.

He actually entered the NFL as a safety. He has the ability to play both positions at a high level. As I said in my OP you could list him either place.
