re: Tampa Bay Bucs Center Jeremy Zuttah - Potential Trade?

You had me when you said Tampa Bay –

- Talib
- Blount
- Revis

re: Tampa Bay Bucs Center Jeremy Zuttah - Potential Trade?

He played college football at Rutgers.

Call Belichick intrigued :rocker:

re: Tampa Bay Bucs Center Jeremy Zuttah - Potential Trade?

He can play any interior spot on the oline and we seem to have luck with TB players. Not sure how good he is, but BB would know from the joint practices. My guess is he would have to take a pay cut to come here.

Double Bonus: He played at RUTGERS!

re: Tampa Bay Bucs Center Jeremy Zuttah - Potential Trade?

Not at that salary. Wait for him to be cut.

re: Tampa Bay Bucs Center Jeremy Zuttah - Potential Trade?

Bucs, Rutgers, this is too good to be true.

re: Tampa Bay Bucs Center Jeremy Zuttah - Potential Trade?

I live in the Tampa Bay area and see a lot of Bucs games cuz they are televised locally. I can say that I know of him and I never noticed any glaring problems with the guy, but who watches the center during games and I am no expect.

Hell, sign him! We are batting 1,000% with TB castoffs........

re: Tampa Bay Bucs Center Jeremy Zuttah - Potential Trade?

Yup, as soon as he gets cut I expect BB to be on the phone with him! LOL

re: Tampa Bay Bucs Center Jeremy Zuttah - Potential Trade?

Shame Schiano is no longer there to give us him and a 3rd for Tavon Wilson... :(

What do you think about Brian De La Puente?

I think BB will Puente on that

Agreed, those are some steep base salaries for a C in 2014 and 2015. The only way I'd entertain a trade is if some of that gets converted to guaranteed money prior to the trade so it stays on Tampa's cap. Doubt that'll happen though, they'd probably rather cut him and keep whatever cap space it would take to make him a tradeable asset.

Jason Licht, a former Patriots front office person, is their general manager.
He might let the Patriots talk to Zuttah to restructure his contract before
a possible trade.

I hope De La Puente is our next move. Pass on Wendell and cut Connolly.
Cutting Connolly will pay a good part of De La Puenta's salary.

I have to think it was the SSS that turned them off to Dietrich-Smith, who signed a pretty reasonable contract.

De La Puenta looks to be the best available (and very good in pass blocking) remaining. I was thinking Goodwin as a stop-gap, but apparently his pass blocking has tanked.

I think 2 of their first 4 picks will be o-line.

re: Tampa Bay Bucs Center Jeremy Zuttah - Potential Trade?

If it were possible, I'd cut Connolly, save the $3M, and then put that toward De La Puente. That's probably about as high as I'd go, though, and I'm not sure that would get it done.

re: Tampa Bay Bucs Center Jeremy Zuttah - Potential Trade?

if Zuttah is willing to restructure I think the pats should jump on this. We don't have a 5th maybe our 6th will do and something late next year.

Zuttah converts the 9.5 mill he is owned over the next two years to SB and salary and we stretch it out to 4 years and 16 mill. The 9mill broken down to
6mill bonus and salaries of 1, 3, 3 and 4. A first year cap hit of 2.5 mill.

I don't want to lose him to the colts.

Cutting Connolly also means you now have to sign a RG, not that I'm necessarily opposed to that

If you're worried about $4.5M being too much for a player, then extending it to $16M/4 with $6M guaranteed isn't the solution.
