Kenny Britt is reportedly visiting Patriots Sunday 3/16

Is it really cheap to book flights to Washington from MA or something?

Delta and US Air each run shuttles between Boston and DC hourly (so you can take a flight every half an hour because they stagger the times).

Don't understand the negativity. This was a #1 WR who has had issues off the field and according to Titans he started turning his life around.
That did not translate to production on the field his last season in Tennessee.

Sure you can ask about his knees but he'll take a physical here.
After Jonathan Fanene, I would not trust the New England Patriots medical staff, even if on retainer.

So really not getting why be negative if we are to sign him.
Depends on the cost.

I get it everyone wants a trade for Julio Jones, Fitz, Andre Johnson but thats not happening maybe in Madden. So i am not going to sit here and complain when pats go out there and get a talented player that comes with baggage for less. Simply put i am all for getting 6-2, 6-3 players who can add to what we have.

As far as trusting medical staff you dont have to trust them as you dont run the team. Fanene happened all the rest didnt. If anything Fanene made them look at things more closely.

Obviously it comes down to $ and i doubt that will be much. And if its anything more it will be tied to production etc. Going back to my original point....I will never complain about another receiving option for Brady.

I wonder if New England will have another Free Agent cancel their visit to Washington.

Re: Kenny Britt is reportedly visiting Patriots tomorrow

He has never really produced anywhere near a #1 WR level. His career highs are 45 catches and 775 yards. His career average is 43 yards a game lower than Amendola's career avg and Dobson's number from last year.

He has produced at #1 level... that career year he had he had 42 catches for 775 (18.5 YPC) and 9 TDs. That was in 12 games. Prorate that to a full 16 games you get 56 catches 1,033 yards and 12 TDs; on a crappy team with Matt Hasselbeck throwing to him. Guy was big plays waiting to happen.

I refuse to believe that the knee injury bled him dry of all potential. Plenty of guys have come back from ACL injury and he is only 25! IMO after he got injured, he got in trouble off the field and was never able to regain his focus on football. I also think the new coaching staff never really gave him a fair shot to play after Fisher left. All of this combined contributed to his lack of effort, success, and opportunity that last two years or so.

THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF A GUY WHO NEEDS A CHANGE OF SCENERY.

If you watch any of his tape from 2009-2011 this guy is exactly what we need, a strong outside presence who can make contested catches outside the numbers and can get vertical.

LaFell is solid, but Britt's potential is on another level. In can't hurt to give him a one year deal for vet minimum with incentives and give him a chance to make the roster in TC. We have a strong locker room with plenty of leaders and a coaching staff that can keep him in line. Also doesn't hurt that a number of his college teammates are on the roster.

Where was that stated in my comments?

Height is overrated.

Britt's surgically repaired knee did not translate to production on the field.

Something is amiss with Britt.

It all depends on the cost, especially in the salary cap era.

Ya, pretty evident when they went Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter in back to back drafts

1. Not in the red zone. Look at the top 15 receivers in the league my guess is there is only 1 or two of them under 6' and the majority of them are 6'3 +

2. He needs to focus on football more, a better locker room, and better coaches. Change of scenery.

3. Shouldn't cost more than vet minimum. Maybe make it a 2 year 1.5 million contract with incentives?

While I'm hoping that you're right, it seems as though we may not find out what happens to Britt for the next handful of days in my opinion--unless of course NE and Belichick offer him a deal he can't refuse.

I read today that he is drawing interest from more teams than expected, and already has other visits planned.

So, Spikes is a bad guy but we want Britt?

Probably getting out on bail Monday, or something.

Eluding an officer, hindering apprehension
Driving 70+ mph in a 50 mph zone
Resisting arrest after suspiciously disposing of what appeared to be marijuana
Traffic warrants
Driving without a license
Failing to pay bail
Bar fight
DUI

Sorry about the language, it's his public message.

“Yu gotta be *****in kidding me.. walk back to dis.. Don’t dey know I have kids .. I’m tired of did *****.”

[Actually, it comes out milder due to software here, especially. It's f to g with only one * and s to t with only one *

And the last part is I'm tired of did *****, which seems to be grammar from another language.]

Perfect, a menace to society.

His visit is Monday he'd be a great low risk signing if he can get his act and knees together.

Do you understand what the word risk means?

hasn't been in trouble in almost two years, have a strong organization, and he knows this would be his last shot... low risk

Wll, in January of 2013, he dropped off a friend at a hospital who had been stabbed and refused to talk to police- so I wouldn't say he has been on the straight and narrow. He is clearly at high risk to do something stupid. However, his antics and lack of production mean that you can likely sign him to contract that won't hurt you financially if he does screw up.

I like the last sentence. Makes a lot of sense. 2mill a year should do it. Fresh chance, Tom Brady throwing you the ball. Behave, play hard, learn the playbook, and a huge payday could be his in a few years.

So anyone who hasn't actually been arrested in the last two years is low risk? That would include a lot of ex cons on parole. How did he play last year? How did he rehab his injury? Did he get fined for not going to his rehab appointment and post on instagram that he was sick of this f***g s*t? Less than two years, BTW.

Had procedures on both knees and 11 catches last year.

He's got potential and I think he knows better than to pull that instagram thing here, in fact he wouldn't have the opportunity to because he wouldn't be missing meetings because BB and Brady will be riding him.

If he messes up, cut him in TC and there will be no harm done.

After the Hernandez deal I can't see how you sign him, yeh he might be a model citizen but dam your taking chances on this one.

Well Talib wasn't exactly a model citizen either
