so about kenny britt? is he still coming? i would've have liked him for 3yrs. He was the only possible chance of being a number 1 wr.

he's got decent size, albeit not TE big

carolina moved him a round a lot last year.....he was decent in the red zone, went in motion a light, lined up inside quite a bit

what are the odds he could take on a few of the move TE routes?

granted, he doesn't have TE size, can't truly take on that role.....but could take over some of those routes?

not real keen on his physicality.....but he's known as a good downfield blocker.....

Ok. So 2 questions:

1) Is he a good route-runner?
2) Fast? Slow? Average?

Butter fingers is not a good trait...

At this point, i would find it weird if he said anything else

I watch the Panthers as they are the local team here, when I'm not watching my Pats. He looks like a good receiver with all the characteristics until you see his hands. Drops a ton of passes! You can almost count on him to have a drop or 2 each game. I'm not excited as you expect that from a 1st year wide out, not after a few years in a system...he'll be like the Kyle Arrington of the Offense where he looks like he's got all the tools but he will really look like a tool instead. I hope I'm wrong though. At this point, I think the Pats overpaid for what they will get.

I am not getting hung up on the 3 years, $11 million until I see the guaranteed money.

While the rest of the league is looking on, the Patriots and Broncos are trading body blows:

I got Talib!

- Yeah, well, I got Revis!

Good for you. I got Ward.

- Great! Let me introduce you to Mr. Browner.

Well, I may have lost Decker, but I got Sanders!

- Cool. I kept Edelman and Brought in Lafell.

Ok, but trump card. I've got Ware!

- This isn't over yet, Hee Haw. I'll have the last laugh this year.

Deus! Are you holding back?!

Is Allen coming here?!

I wasn't against bringing him in but that's more money than I'd like to see spent on him.0

The real question is Lafell or Sanders which was a better option?
Disagree. I wanted neither. We know BB's WR drafting is questionable, but we weren't required to sign an outside WR in FA; drafting one would have done just as good. I would've rather added Owen Daniels than any of the FA WRs left (other than J Jones, who is probably asking for >$15M).

A stone handed receiver going to play with a QB know for his high velocity short and intermediate passes.....awesome.

everything about his game reminds me of Aaron Dobson his size his route running, if that's a good thing or a bad thing we will find out soon a nuff

He was only credited with six drops all season. In fact, that was a career high other than his rookie year.

How many WRs did we carry last year? I wonder who gets cut this year?

Dobson and Boyce were our recent 2nd and 4th round picks so obviously they stay
Edelman stays obviously

No way we cut Amendola, right?

Thompkins made some big plays last season. Might be on the bubble though. I feel like he has some great potential though

Harrison is interesting. Great size, looks great in his college highlights. Maybe put him on the practice squad for 1 more year?

LaFell just signed - Could he be this year's Michael Jenkins? (eventually cut)

7 WRs + a special teamer Slater

Not ecstatic about this one. Hope he breaks out.

He's the WR3 to counter Sanders. Both are "Meh" and both will probably be overpaid.

The Patriots don't have a WR1, so they're going to try to win with a running game, a bunch of WR2s and WR3s, and Gronk.

I hope this doesn't stop Britt from coming in for his look.
Dobson looks like he can become a #1 Wide Receiver. If you have several players who are rated as #2 receivers, what difference does it make if you don't have a clear cut #1? Gronk is the clear cut 1. It doesn't matter to me that he's a Tight End because he can do it all in the run and passing games.

Would I like a clearly defined 1? Sure. Is it hugely important if it's not available? Not really.

Now, all that said, we are in agreement. I'd like the Patriots to bring Britt in for a look and to continue to look at upgrading every position outside of CB now.

Another NFL talent at WR for Brady. Much better than the Jones/Jenkins/Hawkins yearly signings.

He will be a good support player for Brady. Sounds good.

Although the definition of "dropped pass" is inexact, the link I posted earlier says he had 6 last year and 3 the year before.

So that's 9 in two years, hardly 1 or 2 a game.

3/11 is too much for a guy like LaFell. However I am not going to get too down on it until i see the guaranteed money and how much he will cost this year.

This is really a lot to invest on a WR that has not been in our system and makes me wonder how much we paid Edelman. We had to pay him at least more than this right?

I suggest that we have this discussion in mid-August. Last year we had too many TE's until we didn't have enough. We had too many WR's until we started players who didn't have a clue how to play in the NFL.

For now, I welcome the competition.

A lot of drops ???

Maybe he'll catch one with his helmet in the playoffs ... it's our turn.
