I hope Schiano is in Bill's ear telling him to sign Britt. You know you love Rutgers guys Bill.

mmm, didn't he blow up his knee in 2011 and has been worthless ever since? pass.

The potential has me interested. Hell, the Patriots have added worse players through Free Agency and cut them before the 53 is due. Bring him in, see what he's got and if he's willing to spend all the offseason with Brady catching passes out on the West Coast re-evaluate the move in September.

11 catches for 96 yards and no touchdowns last season. Was he in the doghouse all year or what?

Free agent WR Kenny Britt will visit with the Patriots on Sunday.

Britt visited with the Rams Saturday, but left without a contract. New England still has a need at receiver after bringing back Julian Edelman and could be a fit for Britt given Bill Belichick's ties to former Rutgers players. Britt has drawn interest from as many as five teams, but should only require a one-year, "prove-it" deal.

Good question. Answer - he hasn't lived up to the promise of his first two seasons but he should come very cheap because of that. And he's only 25. So we could have him on a cheap 'prove it' deal.

Yup. I expect us to sign Britt on the cheap, as long as he can show us something. And then the massive 6-6 Coleman from Rutgers as a late round pick as well.

If he's right then why not a 1 year prove it deal. I want more freaks out on the field and it looks like BB is adding size and speed. Tired of 260 LBS who can't run and smurf wr's.

The Pats are very close to signing WR Brandon LaFell. Let's just say I know a guy who knows a guy. But book it #PatriotsTalk

Very interested where things are going and whether they may bite the bullett on Amendola after re-signing Edelman.

Edelman, Dobson, Boyce, LaFell + competition for the last spot (Thompkins, Harrison, Britt).

He's younger than Kenbrell Thompkins

Would really like to see Miles Austin or Sidney Rice too

Between Dobson, Amendola, and Thompkins, our ER is full. We would need to get a few more chairs.

But seriously, I wouldn't mind either of them, but would prefer Britt to both just because of his age being lower and potential being higher.

Britt is the perfect reclamation project. I've been calling for this for a year. The only question is is he smart enough or dedicated enough to learn the play book. He has all the motivation in the world to have a good 2014

I agree that if he could be turned, we could do it. But I don't have faith in Britt man. He just seems like a loser to me. He definitely "should" have all of the motivation in the world, and for his own sake I hope he turns it around. I am not optimistic on that front though.

You can't have too much receiving depth on the roster in the middle of March.

Especially 6' 3" WRs who have been able to stretch the field in the past.

On April 12, 2011 Britt was arrested in New Jersey on three counts (including a felony) following an alleged car chase with police. The charges were later reduced.[8] On June 7, Britt pled guilty to careless driving and was fined.[9] On June 8, 2012, Britt was arrested in Hoboken, NJ, charged with resisting arrest.[10] On January 13, 2013, Britt's close personal friend was involved in a stabbing, and reportedly drove him to the Jersey City Medical Center. When police attempted to ask Britt about the incident, he was allegedly not willing to cooperate. The incident marks the ninth time Britt was involved with police since he joined the NFL.[11]

So, bring in Blackmon too and they can visit AH in jail....

LaFell is much less talented than those two, but I bet he makes it through the season w/o being arrested.

Britt's knees are trashed too.

Nooooooo

LaFell is mediocre, a potential Michael Jenkins move. I don't much like Britt either but at least there is some upside to his game. The Panthers are in desperate need for a WR and it doesn't appear they've even considered bringing back LaFell.

Not a fan of him..but if he is dirt cheap then who cares.

I am still getting use to saying Revis and NE in the same sentence so i am not worried about Britt ATM :D
