Sad to see him go, assuming they honour his request. Let's just hope he doesn't go to the Broncos.

More cap space for us though. Net cap savings of $7.58 million

Do we know why? That is disappointing he was an all time Patriots :(

Wow. And here we were worried about how to handle him.

Will miss the big guy.

Melton
Hatcher
Raji
Williams

There are still a few guys out there that can be an upgrade or at least a stop-gap replacement.

Raji is off the market
Melton is coming off a knee injury which put him on IR
Hatcher has had one exception season which happened to be in 2013.
Williams - see Hatcher

And all are the same age was wilfork.

factor in the leadership and the 11 mil cap charge doesn't seem to be that excessive especially when consider the Revis deal.

wow. what the hell is his problem? i guess hes insulted they asked to restructure his contract. so sensitive.

NYJ Atlanta Pitt make the most sense.
Someone call Jared Allen or Henry Melton.

if he thinks he can get more money on the open market, do you blame him? id take more money

You certainly have a generous idea of what is worth $11M.

Pretty much knew this day was coming when I heard the extent of his injuries during the season. I had small hope he would do the right thing and take less $ considering age and the injury but hey a mans gotta eat (and especially Big V)

I personally think he is getting some bad advice, but there are teams with a lot of dough that don't make great decisions (yes im looking at you Oakland)maybe someone will over pay. Wonder if he sits long enough and doesn't get much in the way of offers if he would work with us again or not(or is that even possible).

Are u dumb? It's because he doesn't want to take a pay cut, he's not willing to restructure.

I think he ends up in Houston or Buffalo.

What's the cap update?

Can't say I blame him, the way Elway is tossing around money I'm surprised Brady didn't ask for his release....$$$$

Hopefully it's just posturing and won't come to this. I know Big Vince is old and slow and now injured, but he adds a lot to the team in terms of being a leader, knowing the scheme and at least having the possibility of returning to form.

I hate the offseason and always wish we could skip right over it to the regular season...

I'll be honest with you. I wasn't thrilled that wilfork tweeted a few days ago that talib's new contract with denver was "well deserved". It sounded like a shot against the pats.

Yeah I thought there were some nuances of that sort in that Twit as well.

Sucks and it's unfortunate but what the hell can we do? Too many holes, not enough money.

What team did he sign with?

Do we know why? That is disappointing he was an all time Patriots :(

Sounds like he didn't want to restructure and play out his contract & didn't like an outsider like Revis to be paid more than him.

Sad, but better that the team moves on without him than continue in limbo. Given his history, it would have been harder for them to release Wilfork. Now, with him asking than when them to do it, things should move quickly.

Maybe that was an orchestrated agreement to do it that way. For public consumption.

Raji is off the market

can somebody please send me a link where it says Raji has agreed to the deal offered by Packers. I heard on the Sports Hub that Raji signed but nowhere else

Say it ain't so :(

Guess it's not that surprising but still sad to see him go. Good luck to him... and thanks. He'll be missed.
