We. Have. Revis.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't Revis' only a problem when he wants a new contract? I can't recall him having any problems with team mates during the season.

I can't say I've followed everything from his career, but that tweet about being happier about the extra $4M while the Bucs were winless didn't win me over.

And Revis will be playing for a new contract. He'll be playing a lot of man to man I'm sure, but when we're in zone, will he freelance a la Asante for more INTs to improve his bargaining position? Or will he do his job even when it's not glamorous?

I don't know, but I have to ask.

Honestly though, I think it will work. I think Revis saw Sherman win a Super Bowl and realized he needed to do the same. I expect he'll be a team player because he knows he's playing for a big long-term deal next season as the cap continues to grow. But there are definitely reasons to be skeptical.

I don't know what's harder to believe, that we actually have one of, if not the best corner in the game at 75% of his market rate last year, or that there's people on here actually complaining about it!

If Revis comes in and plays lights out, we try to get a longer term deal; if not, franchise tags were made for players like Revis. I believe the tag for cornerbacks this year is $11,834,000. Even if it jumps up to the $12-13 million range, we're basically extending his contract. If he doesn't play up to a $12M level, then he's not getting that kind of money anywhere. I don't know if a one year deal is the best scenario necessarily, but it's certainly not as bad as some seem to think.

The black lining to this signing (which I am ECSTATIC about) is the implications for negotiations with Wilfork, Edelman et al...

Geno Smith throwing in Revis's general direction? Oh boy. This one is going to sting, jets fans.

Nice. Glad i was wrong about him going to Denver. So funny to see how the mood on this board changed from earlier.

Paul Perillo posted it on Patriots.com. I doubt they would have posted it on the Patriots' website if it isn't true.

Report: Pats sign Revis

Yeah come on Smith! Your most hated player of 2012/2013 (Talib) is no longer here.

How about Hakeem Nicks as well?

Wow..this is reminiscent of Deion Sanders going to the 49ers.

Great move and the one year deal is great from both sides.

Gives Pats a chance to kick the tires, especially to make sure that knee holds up. If it works out can extend during the season. If not can cut ties without any issue or as many have said you hold the rights so can tag and trade. This is a no brainer.

I haven't been this excited about a move since Moss.

If this deal really happened. Some on here owe the great BB an apology. We got Revis for the money it would've taken to franchise Talib. Isn't it funny that we got the deal that would've benefited the Broncos MUCH more?

Honestly what a day. I mean I wanted to keep Talib but given Bradys contract over the next 3 years, no dead murderer cap, I love this deal

Too bad our opponents don't have to worry about any of our WRs

Its a desperation move by the Patsies. I for one am loving it. Hopefully they sell a lot of jerseys.

Gotta love jets fans :rocker:

The fact we got him one year for 12m doesn't that say quite much about how much he wanted to play here? Surely he could have had better offers elsewhere.
If he plays like the best CB and BB likes him, we should be in a great position for a long deal...

Not only that, but it means Revis is officially in his last contract year which means he's going to be busting his ass for another big contrat....so we'll get top production form him.

Mwahahahah!:D
Yep, he'll be doing a Talib. Play great and cash in

Every year, every move the Pats make are labeled a desperation move by the Patriots. When was the last time the Pats did anything out of desperation. Most people here hate the fact that Belichick doesn't respond to things like losing Welker with grande moves.

Not skeptical at all. This is Randy Mossesque. We could put him on Denver's #1 receiver, cludder the short passes and stomp them with Gronk everywhere we want.

Very excited!

WOW... I didn't see this realistically happening.

12m isn't too much IMO. He is the best or one of the best corners in the league.

I am in a little shock... JEts fans must be pi$$ed if this is true

Honestly don't know how to feel... on the other hand 12M is a lot of coin.

25% discount to what he made LAST year, under a tighter salary cap.

This is an unbelievable deal for the Patriots.
