It's based on Manish Mehta. As terrible of a beat writer as he is (he's like their Felger), he's definitely dialed in with Revis. He was Revis' mouthpiece for both of his holdouts, and he says that his sources are telling him that Revis is coming to NE.

This **** doesn't sound so smart when watching the 2012 pre-Talib defense when QB Joe Nobody could match masterful Brady drives in 45 seconds with 3 passes to wide open receivers.

Players are addicted to huge numbers, even when those numbers are not guaranteed. They should take the exact offer they were planning and just add $20 million to the 6th year. It's not like he will play that 6th year here anyway.

You do realize what kind of match-ups Revis can create, correct? He frees up Belichick and Patricia to do a whole lot of exotic stuff on the defense that we probably haven't seen since the dynasty years. Suddenly, you have the freedom to call a casino blitz or flood the middle of the rest of the field in coverage or pull a safety into the box to cover TE's or RB's out of the backfield. Yes, it's a 53 man team. But when you add Revis to the missing pieces returning on defense and he effectively shuts down half the field by himself, your defense gets that much stronger.
