Darrelle Revis Rumors and Speculation

Re: Darrelle Revis Available

But if the Patriots were to sign him it would be one of the Greatest signings ever...yeah right jack.:spygate:

I love how your entire debating style involves attacking points precisely no one is making, or has made. Do you have anything else to offer?

Hard to blame Patriots for losing Aqib Talib - ESPN Boston

Conclusion: Revis is unlikely to sign with NE. There is no other CB available as good as the one we lost. We will be less talented at CB.

Because when we got Talib, he was such a given top tier stud....right?

Oh wait, no he wan't. He was a raw player, with upside, some troubles, who made a lot of mental errors and would often let guys blow by him, didn't play up to his potential, needed work, and good coaching in the right system to turn into what he has become. I'm sure there are NO other players like that out there...

Re: Darrelle Revis Available

Oh yeah. Posters will either foam at the mouth with rage or will talk themselves into believing that Revis is not that good anyway and that they're glad the Pats didn't take on the contract he gets.

I would love to have Revis but not at 16 Million.

Who is the highest paid corner right now? I think over 11 would make him highest paid. I feel like he can be had for 12mill. If he does come here, I doubt he's here for more than 3 seasons before he tries to get more cash. But, it'd still be worth it.

That's an interesting perspective. Revis would be the highest paid CB at 10.5 million a year. That would take some magic persuasion by BB to get him to sign at that rate though.

Re: Darrelle Revis Available

Let me put it another way. I truly believe Belichick is the best coach of all-time. He will soon become the all-time leader in wins. I believe he already holds the record for most playoff wins as a head coach. He has 3 SB rings and a million AFCCG appearances. But I also believe he is a below average to average GM. So you ask why the Pats have been as successful as they have over the last 10 years? Because the best coach & QB in NFL history masks a lot of the deficiencies with the rest of the team.

I have no doubt this team will win the division, make the playoffs, and win a game in the postseason. But without an extraordinary amount of luck, they are not beating Denver and they certainly are not winning a SB. Unless they figure out a way to drastically improve the team by signing Revis and filling other needs through FA or trades. But right now I do not see that happening.

Couldn't agree more

Pats would have to offer the most $$$ to get Revis once he's cut.

I am guessing that will fall in the 12mil a year range ... Give or take.

The team has backed itself into a corner (no pun intended.) Not only did they lose their top CB, they lost him to their biggest threat in the AFC. Surely the Revis camp knows the Pats will be desperate for a top notch CB and right now Revis is the only one available. Which means he may not come down much (if at all) from $16 million. But if the Pats do not pay him, what are the alternatives?

What? Talib was always a top CB, he was taken very high in the first round and has always played well when on the field.

There are ways where they can structure his first year as a signing bonus where his cap hit is around $5M but yeah, it won't happen. If the team was on the hook for the $16M this year and got him, I highly doubt many people here would be complaining. The only way people would complain is if he had that cap hit and had a down year which, short of injury, isn't happening either.

You guys should tweet @Revis24 if you have twitter. Probably won't do anything but, couldn't hurt.

Dennard Ryan and Arrington, maybe an older corner that is a bit over the hill and a rookie that will prob end up being a bust.

Part of me only wants to see what these idiots will say if he goes somewhere else.

Move franchise to LA?
I am giving up?

Re: Darrelle Revis Available

Why all the analysts say the NE is front runner for Revis? Once he us free agent he can sign with anyone who pays him most. NE won't be paying most.

Then we should prepare ourselves for another crushing postseason loss to the Forehead, which would improve his playoff record against Brady to 3-2. It already makes me sick just to think about.

What good will this do?

Like I said, probably nothing. But, maybe we can do this

Yeah I'm probably delusional but, it takes like 2 seconds to do lol.

I'm already enjoying seeing what the idiots who claim the Pats will be ok despite their lack of activity are saying. Hilarious stuff.
