Honestly, I don't know what else people would expect. It's pretty much a given that the Pats will wait until the bargain basement and clearance sale begins next week. Since the signing of A. Thomas I don't think they've signed another big ticket item. It's Bill's philosophy. If there is to be a big move it will be via a trade. No big surprise due to free agency.

For many the sky will be falling, for others they will know that this is about the long haul...not immediate gratification.

What Talib got is a much more than expected, for a guy with major hip issues..

Signing a free agent doesn't impede Denver's ability to draft, I dare say they're a lot better off with Peyton (free agent) than they would be with Brock Osweiler (draft).

Value is wherever you can find it.

Meanwhile, teams that blow us the F out in the playoffs are built by taking our best FAs.

Pretty accurate. ...good post

We took a considerable step back yesterday.
Until people see improvement they will complain. And rightfully so.

It's day one of free agency...:bricks:

How are other teams able to sign and retain F/As while the Pats act as if they're always behind in the salary cap mortgage? There is little doubt that the Pats will win the AFC East because of Brady but there is equally little doubt he can only take them so far without without quality players on both sides of the ball.

The team that kicked the Pats ass in the playoffs just got better and are apparently flooring the pedal to load up because Manning's window is closing (just like Brady's). Bragging about how much the Pats didn't spend isn't quite as gratifying as bragging about a playoff win.

Ahhhhh!! So frustrating!!! It's just like tuning into the draft & waiting until the end of the first round, only to find out the Pats have traded out. Sigh. I know we are always in it, but I wish for once they would load up and see what happens,

Agreed. The Broncos aren't wasting Manning like we are wasting Brady...

meanwhile, the Broncos are doing what the pats are Not doing so far...going all in for their ageing QB...They understand that its a waste of time to "save cap space" for the future when they are likely starting some scrub at QB

The pats dont understand that...when Brady/belicheck retire we are going to be bad. no matter How much cap space they saved by going for "value"

BUT, this move could easily bite them in the @$$ if talib gets injured again and they lose out on decker/Moreno.

But, on paper the Broncos got ALOT stronger whiel the Pats got weaker. but there is still time. if we go out sign Revis, Sanders(or edelman) and Jared Allen I would think we have improved our roster as well

Maybe you've been missing something over the last twelve years...with 11 of a 13 possible division titles in the bag.

When are fans going to buy in to the fact that what Belichick does WORKS. Without his philosophy we would have had NOWEHERE near the same success we have had.

Every year it's the same. You act surprised that we've done nothing and panic as our nearest division/conference rivals play catch up with us. Yet every year we compete.

What more can you ask for? Back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back etc. etc. etc. Super Bowl titles? Well you aren;t going to get them.

Pretty much every NFL team would kill for our success over the last 13 years...the most success any team has had in that time span. Yet people still complain? I truly don't get it.

Damn this fan base can be unbearable. The sooner we suck again the better in my eyes...we need a wake up call...a big one.

awesome whine of the day

the pats have made the final 4 each of the last 3 years.......only the niners match that feat

I have no reason to believe the pats won't be in the running again this year.

sorry, but denver is pretty much sealing their own fate....nobody wins it all by being the big player on day 1 of free agency
