Broncos sign Aqib Talib

Sometimes dream teams don't work out but at this point Talib and Ward look like impressive FA signings. Too bad we have so much tied up in guys like Mankins, Connolly, Sopoaga, Arrington, Ninkovich, etc.

I congratulate him and wish him well. Except when he's playing the pats.

Now that he's gone I wonder what the Pats spend money on.

They have a better team because they whooped our ass in the AFCCG and have gotten even stronger now. Meanwhile, Blundering Bill expects Brady to bail him out next year, like usual. Go do it all, Brady.

I wish there was some way that we could give clowns like you free reign over a team, just to see how quickly you'd run it into the ground. Question individual choices all you want--Belichick makes mistakes just like everyone else--but Blundering Bill? Look at the body of work, Einstein.

Reiss suggesting Finnegan and DRC as replacements. DRC doesnt like contact and Finnegan was horrible last year.

Is Walter Thurmond still available? Brandon Browner? They might help. They were Seachickens.

If it wasn't for "Blundering Bill" and his cesspool of 13 years in NE, odds are you would not even bother to post on an NFL-related message board in early March venting about aforementioned incompetence...

Seriously though, the front office has had its share of ups and downs in regards to certain personnel decisions, but in the grand scheme of things it is hard to ignore the consistency with which they blunder/win ball games...

Some of the posters here are unbearable. They have no clue how a football team is run. Every year it is the same crying and whining about the pats not signing everyone on the first day of FA.

Of course, as mentioned above they give no credit to probably one of the most successful runs in sports history.

Spoiled, rotten, whiny, pu s s ies

Amazing how Brady carries that 53 man team on his back year in and year out.

The NFL is just like the NBA, I guess, huh? :D

He's what LeBron James was in Cleveland. Tell me, who are the other really big impact players aside from Brady? Gronk, but he's always hurt. Please don't give me Jerod Mayo, that's laughable. So is Chandler Jones and his "check in, get one sack, check out".

A 4th round pick for top end CB for a year and a quarter plus we probably get a 3rd round comp pick next year. Not bad at all.

BTW, that amount of guaranteed money is insane for Talib.

I think people are just trying to remind you that there are many factors that go into the entire finished product.

I agree with you that it appears that they have the upper hand, but there are many, many moves yet to be made--and normally these big name moves don't work out.

This is a bit of a different animal due to the fact that they were practically there in the first place, so you may be right. In the meantime, just hang in there and keep the faith. Belichick will give us a winning season, and we will compete at a very high level once again.

I agree with this too. I just think its silly to minimize denver getting a quality player just cause they over paid. For this year its.not gonna affect the team on the field.

The body of work for Bill as a GM is not very impressive.

We're not winning because of his moves in Free Agency. We win because we have the best coach and best QB of all time. The way he handles free agency sucks, though. I'm unsure why this is so hard for people to understand.

Hey man. If you rather not goto the super bowlif it meant that you wouldnt win thats your chouce .

Cant win the superbowls you dont play in. Thats where i stand.

You can't have it both ways. The argument can't be that only SB wins matter when discussing the Patriots, then appearances suddenly matter for the Broncos.

FWIW, my stance is that this move makes Denver likely the best team in the NFL in September. It's as likely as not, though, that it makes them worse (through opportunity cost) from December onward. Talib's hip is what it is. If he beats the odds and makes it through the season healthy, then it's a fantastic deal. If not, then DRC on the field is more valuable than Talib on the sidelines.

I'm happy for Aqib.

Of course I wanted to see him return to the Pats, but I can't be mad at a guy for taking the money given that it's the NFL, anything can happen and these guys have families. So congrats to him.

I'm not in panic mode like some, because I trust BB and I think he has a backup plan, he pretty much always does. Sure he's had some blunders over the years but what GM hasn't? No one can be perfect. There's other teams in the league that would kill to have a guy like Belichick running the team and the success he's helped bring to this franchise.

As far as i remember. And stop me if im wrong but they were super bowl runners up.. destroying us on their way too yea?

Yea. Ok. Were better.

Sorry you were in a coma for that game.

The Patriots were missing Gronkowski, Mayo, Kelly, Vollmer, Spikes, Boyce and Wilfork that day.

6 of those 7 players they get back for day one of next season.

So what "personnel" are you talking about?

Great. The Broncos beat the Patriots in January. The Patriots beat the Broncos on November. How does any of that extrapolate to next season?

Mankins, Wilfork and Ahole. :coffee:

"Ahole?".... A-Hole.

Can't believe I didn't think add that to my lexicon of Hernandez nicknames yet :D. Thank you for using it.

I'm not sure if you watch football, but I'm 100% positive that you don't understand it.

And why did they destroy us? Largely because Talib--the same guy that you're losing your mind over--can't stay on the field.

Hey man i agree. If you read my earlier post you'd know.i dont even care. That money can bespent better. My issue isnt broncos getting talib. Its ky envy that they sign worthwhile players and its been a while since we have.

Same people moaning about letting Donks steal Talib would be even more livid if Pats signed him to that same contract.
