We're going to use our 6th round comp pick to draft a guy named Tom. You heard it here first.

And if Belichick carries FOUR quarterbacks this year.. the signs will be looking good.. ;)

Tom Savage?

Mayock considers Savage a wild card because he bounced around so much in college, preventing him from developing in one offensive system. The four-star prospect from Springfield, Penn., was a huge recruiting score for then-Rutgers coach Greg Schiano in 2009.

My guess is, in all seriousness, they will bring in Tebow as a backup this year.

If a team like Cleveland offered a 2nd round pick in this draft take it and say thank you. They get value for Mallet and can hopefully address needs while Brady is still playing. Its time to cash in because the rainy day is here.

Draft another QB (not with the Browns pick) or bring in a Vet as a back up.

If any team offered a 2nd for Mallett in this draft I would take it and say, "thank you".

So you think it's impossible that -- at least for as long as Tom Brady is one of the top QBs in the league -- the Patriots would ever use a transition or franchise tag on their backup QB?

I think it's impossible for them to do it with someone like Mallett who has almost no game experience. They'd franchise him and guarantee him 17M or something like that? He'd be the highest paid player on the team. That sounds reasonable to you?

I am somewhat disinterested with this whole issue. IMHO, belichick would use what we get for Mallett (Houston's third) to draft a quarterback.

No basis for thinking that. Besides, if they did they'd have a QB on a 4 year cheap deal instead of Mallett on a one year and FA deal.

Bingo. Savage has by far the best name in an extremely weak quarterback name class. ("Blake Bortles"? Seriously??)

Blake Bortles sounds like a QB's name.

Savage sounds more like the name of a LB.

Yes, he showed a lot in the last training camp. He was very impressive. And such great character too!

QB: Bart Starr, Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana

LB: **** Butkus, Jack Ham, Ray Nitschke

P: Tom Tupa, Reggie Roby, Blake Bortles

Still waiting on the second round pick that people were sure Hoyer would bring....

QB: Bart Starr, Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana,

LB: **** Butkus, Jack Ham, Ray Nitschke

P: Tom Tupa, Reggie Roby, Blake Bortles

LB: Brandon Spikes

And Ryan Mallett should be a lineman or a fullback.
