Michael Hoomanawanui will resign w/Pats

As long as he's not the only other tight end we bring in, I like it. I don't mind him being the reserve, or even the #3 guy, but I want someone else after Gronk that has more to offer.

The #Patriots are re-signing TE Michael Hoomanawanui, per source, on a 2-year deal (as @Rand_Getlin said)

To which I reply, "meh."

The patriots are acting slowly as they usually do.

This is a good signing of a #3 TE.

This is now 2 of the 12 free agents. Last year, it took a long time before the team re-signed their free agents.

NEXT UP
I suspect that the next will be Fletcher, Coliie or Svitek.

THE BIG FOUR
We can only hope to have information on the four starters: Talib, Edelman, Blount and Edelman.

THE THREE TO IGNORE
Spikes, Carter (could sign in camp) and Mulligan

A decent player but I hope this is not our big splash in free agency.

Nice. A long snapper and then a JAG TE (at best) to a two year deal. What a phenomenal start to free agency. If Hooman got a Kyle Arrington-esque contract, I'll puke.

Nothing wrong with bringing him back, good depth, can block, actually made a few big plays. Already knows the system. A good depth signing.

Plus another year of listening to announcers butcher his name.

Good! He's a good guy to keep around.

YES!! These are the types of moves that win championships! If you think it is about signing well known players you are wrong. It is about depth. You can never have enough Tight Ends who although they can't catch the ball, are pretty decent blockers.

He's a serviceable blocking TE2 that has two years in the system. Solid if it's a cheap deal.

Even if we draft/sign a move TE, Hooman will be useful in the 2 TE heavy sets. He plowed some big holes for Blount last season.

Cmon it's the Belichickian way. This is how you build championships.

FWIW I saw Kyle Arrington shopping for homes on some HGTV show last night. He bought a home for $790K in North Attleboro. Weak.

Not a bad #3 TE. Still need a #2 TE though.

Wish Brady would throw him the ball. If no one bothers covering him, he might even get open....right?

Look at it this way. It's two less spots to fill on the 53 man roster.
Of course, I'd rather it be Talib, Edelman, or Blount.

Hoomanawanui and Fiedorowicz as BB continues to troll the media.

After a hiatus of 4 games the lazy DCs have forgotten that play and it works again. I see 4 big catches coming!

Nice to see you can still afford a really nice home on the income you earn by getting torched at times when the defense really needs a stop. What a terrible contract. I can live with Hooman if the contract reflects the kind of player he is. But if Belichick went full ****** again and gave him an Arrington-esque contract I'll probably fire my computer out the window, punch a hole in the wall, and go into the fetal position while sobbing.

Don't pay any mind to my insanity today, guys. I hate springing forward.
