Pro Day Results

@cpriceNFL: Per reports, Patriots were among the teams represented at New Mexico State Pro Day yesterday.

Per Josh Norris on Twitter, Taylor Martinez ran between 4.28 and 4.35 in the 40 at the Nebraska Pro Day today, along with a 39" VJ, 10'9" BJ, and 38.1 SS.

Yeah but he can't throw worth a damn. Are you planning on making him a WR conversion?

Throw him out there at DB and see if it sticks.

Possible interest in OL Davonte Wallace (tackle experience, guard build) and WR Austin Franklin. Franklin is a junior entry who was productive in college and has the body type and game that Belichick seems to like at WR, 5-11/190 with quick hips and good route running ability.

A couple of nice potential sleepers in the deepest draft in ages. Bring in some Aggies!

Wow. It was always clear that Martinez is athlete, but he obviously is ATHLETE.

Joel Bitonio (Nevada), Marcus Martin (USC), Weston Richburg (Colorado St.), Billy Turner (North Dakota St.) and Gator Hoskins (Marshall) are more interesting to me than anyone from either Alabama or Rutgers, personally.

Mentioned him before but now going to make a prediction---scouts will go for Billy Turner and leave talking about corner Marcus Williams.

I like Williams too. Had him in one of my mocks some months a ago. Would be a big upgrade at #5 CB.

As would Qua Cox of Jackson State who I had in my very first mock.

4.52 40
35.5 vert
10'1" LJ
6.8 3 cone

Similar athletically to Bashaud Breeland. Decent UDFA option.

Ryan Shazier runs a 4:36 at his Ohio State pro dau

Called for a double one

Edit: when I said I thought we needed speed on defense. That would do :)

Ran an unofficial 4.36 and then popped a hammy, again. But still very impressive.

I was pretty much expecting something like this.

"Ryan is always the model of what you're looking for at the linebacker position," former Seattle and Carolina scout and current NFL.com draft analyst Bucky Brooks told USA TODAY Sports. "Ryan is very fast, super athletic and has that positional versatility you look for. He can cover tight ends but also rush off the edge."

In other words, he is a three-down, three-tool (run-and-hit, pass-rushing, coverage) linebacker in today's pass-heavy, shotgun spread league.

Yet another 1st round worthy prospect who will be long gone by 29.

Yeah. Doesn't matter whether it's 4:36 or 4:45 that is damn fast.

My 1st pick formula is pretty quickly coming down to (a) trade up for Aaron Donald if possible, (b) take Ryan Shazier if he's available, or (c) trade back to 40 or so and take Dominique Easley. Any of those 3 guys would provide speed and disruption. Add in Christian Jones/Jordan Tripp and I want one of those 2 DTs and 1 of those 3 LBs.

I have a lot more options than you. I'm happy with ASJ, Tuitt, Hageman (to a lesser extent), Shazier, Beckham and Cooks, Fuller, Ward and Ha-Ha. I'm happy if we take any of those in the first round, happier if we can get any of those in a trade back.

You certainly do. Hageman is the only guy on your list who I might be happy with at 29. A trade back opens up more options, but I'd personally put all of those guys behind the 3 on my list. Obviously, you disagree - that's where the fun comes in.

Jimmie Ward runs back to back 4.47 runs at his pro-day. That's plenty good enough.
