Did the Patriots ever take a look at Joseph Fauria, or did Detroit sign him before Hernandez blew up.

I don't know if NE ever looked into him but he was undrafted last year and signed with DET on 4/27/13. So the AH stuff happened months after he was already signed.

I would have loved the BB press conference after his N Sync dance.

But good kid, almost got cut by the Lions as well and has become a solid red zone target for them.

No. I think it was either Josh McDaniels' or Danny Amendola's fault that they didn't draft him.
