I have read countless posts in threads recently of how Julian Edelman is a system WR and that is why he did well.
I heard similar things about Welker over the years, which makes me curious –
•What is that system?
•How does it work?
•What aspects of it benefits Edelman or Welker, etc.?
•Why did we sign Amendola to such a large contract when we could have just plugged Jeremey Ebert into “the system”?
•How have we maintained this system despite having two different OCs over the past 5-years?
•Isn’t any offensive scheme that a team uses considered “the system”?
•Even if it is “the system”, shouldn’t we value a player who is able to understand and execute in the system?
Personally, I do not buy it right now so if someone could explain it to me I would greatly appreciate it.
