Welker told Broncos: We’re the best offense ever, start showing it

Bet Randy Moss wants to kick his ass over this

Yeah, sounds really comical actually. You know, picturing him there in orange, down by 4 scores, yelling "We're statistically the most productive offense in history with the new rules and soft schedule. We need to start playing like it!"

Shame on Welker for trying to get his teammates to play their best. What a POS he is.

I sure hope the Patriots don't have a bunch of guys who want to win like that on their team next year, it would suck.

At least someone on that team realized the game had started.

The failure of that team to compete meaningfully on the world's biggest stage can be summarized in one word: Fox.

Can't blame him. Either he was the only Bronco to actually show up, or he was the only one who didn't go home after Peyton, mighty Peyton threw that first terrible INT. Brady would have been kicking the **** out of people under those circumstances.

Exactly.

The fact that Welker assumed that sort of role in his first year there — he also delivered the pre-AFCCG speech — speaks to the overall lack of leadership there. It also showed that he carried a certain degree of Patriots aura with him.

Every time Welker caught a pass for a first down he'd pop up, hold the ball, and look around like 'why the hell arent these guys rushing to the line'?

I wish we had some of that fire in the AFC championship. I want Gronk back, spiking the ball in the endzone even when we're down 20 pts because, d%#*!@t, it's football and you come to play the game.

I was about to mention that. He looked disgusted.

That team gave up after the safety...I've never seen anything like it...it was like that one play totally messed with their heads and they could never recover...I think that is a huge demerit on Manning's "leadership"...watching Manning mope all game on the sideline just reiterates why I'm so happy we have TB... Brady would have been up and down that sideline getting guys pumped/focused etc...we probably would have lost but goddammit our guys would have gone down swinging, not fold like a cheap tent like the Manning led Broncos...Brady would never allow such a thing.

Welker had a decent game. Caught everything that was thrown to him I believe. Can't question his passion. He was one of the few Broncos along with Cromartie that admitted they were embarrassed after the game where Manning felt like it was insulting to use the word 'embarrassing'.

I know he's personae non gratae with most fans around here, but assuming he hasn't burned his bridges with Belichick, I welcome players with that type of passion, leadership and skills

(for the right price of course!)

Didn't Peyton say that it was wrong to use the word embarrassing because that would discredit the Seahawks? But I would still say that it was embarrassing for the Broncos. Yes, the Seahawks played like one of the best teams ever. No AFC team was even close to the Hawks. But Broncos still played like absolute ****.

I love how the marquis game where he finally stopped dropping the ball was over before halftime.

He sure shows up when nothing crucial is at stake.

Even the Hawks were surprised at the lopsided outcome of the game, according to Cliff Avril on Mike & Mike the next day. You can acknowledge that the Broncos played like they were underwater without discrediting the Seahawks. You can acknowledge that the whole thing was embarrassing to your professional sensibilities. Manning knows this, surely.

Sometimes his "I'm so classy to my opponents" gig gets really eye-rolling. To a degree I wonder if by making such comments he hopes some of the next day stories will be about his major classiness in defeat and less about his rather large role in that defeat. Richard Sherman sure bought it.
