Why would we? We just proved that slot WRs thrive in this system. NOBODY thought JE was capable of these numbers going in.

Speak for yourself. :)

Dead to me.

I'd have nothing against it, except i think he's toast.

Deion Branch was a good returning veteran, and if Edelman gets a great deal elsewhere, Welker is a logical signing - if his brain is not scrambled from the two concussions documented in 2013.

welker walked away, talked **** on his way out, and then cheap shotted our starting CB taking him out of the game.

**** welker, i hope he signs with the jets.

NE offense really features the slot and TE.

Personally unless Edelman signs for cheap, I think we plug Amendola into that spot and go for more size at WR via FA.

Did we? I think that Edelman proved he is a very good NFL player and when he had the opportunity he made the most of it just like he had as rookie filling in for an injured Welker, as DB in 2011, and as a punt returner throughout his NFL career. The actual player signed to replace Welker actually was not successful in the slot so we didn't prove any such thing in my opinion anyway.

Would I bring him back? At the right price yes.

Realistically - that ship has left port.

No, I don't want Welker back. We've moved on. However, this doesn't mean that I would never bring back players who have played for the team in the past.

Welker should retire before he can't remember his name.

Also, he's a traitor, and went to play with Peyton Manning. If he went to the 49'ers or something it would be one thing, but he was watching balls from Peyton.

That's like when Favre went to the Vikings.

Sorry but he be gone and he stay gone.

I wouldn't even want him to retire here right now. That's how spiteful I am about it right now.

I hope we win a ring without him.

For a small contract it may be worth bringing him in to see what he has left. He looked good on some plays last night but overall hasn't been the same this season, and then it got worse after the concussions.

I think it's pretty obvious that's not happening here though

I think welker is calling it a career. if we weren't on the hook for 2 more years of Amendola we could do it.

but I think the chances of it happening are extremely remote.

On vet minimum

Call me a softie, but I don't get all the venom.

People say BB and WW hate each other...I have no evidence of that. WW played his heart out and head off (literally) for us. Brady's six highest comp% years were all with WW catching a ton of passes from him.
I don't buy he tried to hurt Talib (it was a pick play).
He perhaps overvalued himself and took a competitive offer to go to Denver...I don't hold that against him.

That is a big 10-74 (negative)

I don't see him as a traitor; he begged the Pats to sign him for the same money as Denver offered.

But I think he's taken too many shots at BB the coach to be welcomed back. If you attack BB the GM, he doesn't seem to hold that against you, but I'm not aware of somebody ever being welcomed back who attacked BB for his in-stadium actions.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! I saw his leaving to play with Manning for not much more than he would have received here as a BIG F U to the fans.

He turned down 3/18, we nailed his value. He left and went to the rival. Wes is done.

Many think Welker will be cut due to his $8 million cap #. Obviously he would have to mend some fences with Belichick, Kraft, etc. but if he did would you have him back on a 1-2 year deal?

My answer is an astounding no; I don’t believe in going backwards…

When is Welker's contract up?

look, just DROP the subject....hey, I made a funny!

He could also restructure and stay in Denver.

He had a good game but should retire before he turns in to a blithering idiot.

Turns into? After listening to Welker in interviews, he was never too far removed from being a blithering idiot. Not a scholar, that one.

Well...aside from the Rexy foot interview. THAT was genius!
