Dante Scarnecchia to Retire, New Offensive Line Coach Named
By:

After 30 years with the New England Patriots, assistant head coach and offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia will retire. The team has named Dave DeGuglielmo the new offensive line coach....

Clarification- Scarnecchia -coaching etc

Looking for some input from you guys.

Why did Dante Scarnecchia leave this year?

Was his replacement in the works?- I know Scar would like to retire at some point....

Pepper on the D coaching- just time to move?

Is it just time for change or is there something else going on?

we llom good for next yr-pending health

curious if there are any ideas, articles I missed...

what goin on gang?

ESPN hit on this today - Quick-hit thoughts around NFL & Patriots - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

Personally I would not mind seeing Greg Schiano added to the staff as the Rutgers Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach, I think he has a lot of good qualities that could help this team on both sides of the football.

Belichick said that it was known that Scar was done after this year. BB said that he actually stayed on longer than he was supposed to and that they were preparing for his departure.

As for Pepper, I haven't seen anything saying it was planned. But BB's comments lead me to believe it was mutual. He probably wanted the DC shot here but obviously wasn't going to get it with Patricia in that role.
