Brady's playoff performances

Only in New England are the fans complaining that their QB took them to the playoffs 8 times in 8 seasons, the AFC championship 5 times, and the SB twice.

Yeah, I can't wait to replace this guy and we can finally get over the hump.

Since the win over Jacksonville in the 07 Division playoffs, Brady's playoff passer ratings: 66.4, 82.5, 49.1, 89.0, 137.6 (Tebow game), 57.5, 91.1, 115.0, 62.3, 78.4, 93.9 today.

Not a picture of consistency for sure.

There really are some stinkbombs in there. He's as responsible as anyone for 6 of the 8 playoff losses (I don't blame him for Indy or NYG 1). And my god, are the doofus Manning brothers in his head or what? How can you lose 4 playoff games in a row to those stooges? Plus Flacco x2, Sanchez, and Jake Plummer. Not exactly a murderer's row.

who is saying that? Lets be real. His AFC champ game performances have been poor and have cost us.

Brady has been, for a lack of a better word, dog ***** the last few years in the playoffs. We've had healthy teams in the past where he struggled too.

From my eyes he plays not to lose, so conservative. Any deep passes is overthrown because he probably fears getting picked. mcdaniels has been trash in big games too. IMO mcdaniels needs to be fired as a wake up call to the offence. Manning succeeds with any1 as a cordinator and Brady did well under Weiss and obrien. Mcdaniels is old news.

I still think Brady gets 1 more ring before he hangs the cleats up.

I think everyone appreciates Brady. EVERYONE that truly supports this team.

But, yeah, the fact is TB has had some mediocre performances in big games...

No, they really don't. These are the bandwagon fans that not only take for granted going to the playoff every year, usually deep into the playoffs, but also coming up huge and winning the Superbowl every year.

How about Peyton's playoff performances, how about Andrew Luck's 4 interceptions? Romo's playoff performances? Philip Rivers? Hell, Roethlisberger had a horrible game in the Super Bowl but won.

The reason Brady has so many less than fantastic performances in big playoff games is because he brings good, bad and horrible teams there while other QBs fold.

Peyton's had more bad performances, interceptions etc. than anyone, but he keeps at it and he and his team had all the answers today.

If you think thee's some secret to going over playoff losses and thinking you'll find a better quarterback and team, good luck. You'll be in charles Barkley land soon enough.

He made a couple bad throws, the running game and play action went nowhere and there wasn't much more they could do with two slot receivers.

The whole team except Wilfork got turned over from 2004 and the team till made a playoff run every year. They've got the second youngest team in the league and horrific injuries.

Maybe y'all will have the pleasure of routing for a talented team that packs it in for the salary run around mid season. There's plenty out there. then you want have to worry about playoffs.

Really sucks going to the playoffs, deep in sometimes, every year.

Freaking incredible. We need to get rid of that Brady guy.

he plays like he's overly obsessed with his legacy and that 4th championship and psyches himself out in the process.

Perhaps you should defect...become a mercenary.

Listen, outside of Roethlisberger the other QB's named haven't already won multiple SB's and it's completely obvious they haven't proven to be on Brady's level.

My personal frustration as a fan is that we play at a certain level of execution and consistency throughout the season/post- season with the talent/players we have and then we get into these championship games and play COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

Brady is off target, the defense can't generate pressure or a big play, running game is either ineffective or abandoned etc, etc,...same script.

What I'm getting at is that, should we come to a point as fans of this team that we just reside to understanding that the "glory" years are done?

SO, should we be content with TB playing coinsistent football until a championship game and then be happy we got there when he plays bad???

I don't get it,

Brady played bad. The game-plan was suspect. We lacked talent to compensate. Everyone is accountable.

I guess we should be happy we got thumped in a championship game two years in a row....because at least we got there.

I guess.

Funny, I had a friend who was a Miami fans during the Patriots brutal days. I remember arguing with him because he complained that Marino would never win the big one without a good defense. I told him to stop complaining because at least his team was very competitive every year. Now I'm beginning to know what he was trying to say, ditto the Bills fans. I'm sure there were apologist Miami fans that were telling him to STFU and be happy with yearly above average football.

So point out the alternative genius..

I don't know....how about build a defense like the Patriots of old, get Brady decent targets, consistent pass rusher would be nice, an offensive line that isn't expected, by now, to crumble in big games.....

Something is failing here. BB picks the players. BB coaches the players. Brady is the Qb. The Patriots have not won a Superbowl in 10 years ! Since their last Superbowl win the Red Sox have won 3 World Series Championships, not to mention both the Bruins, and Celtics World Championships.

Boston is title town. We measure success by World Championships. The Patriots have failed for a decade now. Do we stick to the same formula for year 11 next year, crying about referees and injuries at seasons end once again?

Will Brady be better at age 37 next year? Is that the plan?

Football is a team game. Most Pats fans seemed to be really happy about this season up until 3 PM today, especially considering the number of injuries and/or arrest warrants affecting key players.

Now it's a few hours later and "Brady sunk us". Not the O-line, or the 3rd-down defense after Talib went down, or the RBs, or the coaching. The really awesome season that led up to this point has been completely forgotten because "Brady didn't get it done".

I just don't live in that world. The Pats got as far as they could, maybe further than they should have considering the circumstances. If they all played better, maybe they could have won, but they didn't. Meanwhile, 28 other teams were watching at home with the rest of us. Twenty-eight.

I enjoyed the journey. Hopefully I'm not alone.

I hear you, but of all the things we expected might go wrong - Brady was at the bottom. As it turned out, he was near the top - if you're giving an honest assessment.

brady didnt play well but he didnt give up 3rd down after 3rd down and 2nd and 20 conversions. The pats played the same nickel defense and manning was still finding WRs open in the field with zero pressure on him. The injuries and difference in talent and lack of playmakers caught up with them today.

Yes, it did. I suspect that Brady was also not 100% healthy. The downfield thrwos were pretty awful.

What exactly do you expect the Patriots to do about losing the best defensive player they have at each level, and the second best offensive player on the team? Blow the team with the best record in the AFC out of the water? They did the best they could with what they have. The Broncos played a damn near perfect game and the Patriots didn't.

Quite a difference the past ten years, the Patriots become choking dogs and the Red Sox are clutch. Getting to these AFCCG's is nice, but isn't it about time for more? Is the organization satisfied? Because I think they've also had enough of 1) fattening the regular season record for a first round bye, 2) beating some chump pretender in the divisional round, and 3) getting your ass handed to you once you step up in class.

Well it appears many people can't judge Brady and his surrounding cast any differently, so assuming they aren't hit hard by injuries again, then the offense as a whole will look better and most people will think more of Brady because of it, even if Brady himself plays the same.

Title town, that's so cute. We could put that on a big sign on the back of the bandwagon.
