I totally disagree with #1. Their QB had talent to pass to which is why he looked better

Same old tired excuse used all season by the Brady apologists. They needed their HOF QB to play like a HOF and he didn't.....and frankly he hasn't in the playoffs for many years. They didn't lose because of him but he didn't do his job, which is to be a difference maker.

In the end both sides of the ball sucked. Moving forward Pats need to shore up their D

They really just need guys healthy, Collins will be good, he just needs more time. Mayo, wilfork and Kelly in that game and I think it is very different.

Now that I've aired all the negatives that I'm feeling, I did see some things that I like. Granted, there weren't many, but after today I feel really good about a Mayo/Collins/Hightower LB corps. I'm down on everyone else on defense, but our linebackers are going to be insane next season.

Ryan Allen! About the only player that had a good game today.

It's depressing watching Seattle and San Francisco's defenses.

. @jeffphowe: Andre Carter says he'll play another year if Belichick will have him back. Won't play anywhere else.

Pretty cool

So when was the last time we had the #7 pick in the draft?

Well, that's another conversation. It's not really Chandler Jones' fault that he's got to be sublime for the Pats to be a good defense. But that's where we are.

Our linebackers are as good as theirs. Now we just need upgrades at DT, DE, S, and CB

Does anyone know where I can find a video of Brady and Belly's postgame interviews? Did they even do any or not yet? Thanks in advance for any type of info.

Re: Will Bob Kraft ever pay a big name receiver free agent

Go get Decker :p

Re: Will Bob Kraft ever pay a big name receiver free agent

uhhh they paid moss

So depressed right now. I hardly care to watch anymore, but which of these teams has the better chance of crushing Manning?

Re: Will Bob Kraft ever pay a big name receiver free agent

How many Super Bowls did Randy Moss win the Pats? He is a big name, big time WR who the Pats did pay and did not get any Super Bowl dividends for it.

Brady needed to be perfect and he wasn't. His overthrows cost them momentum.

Another year, did he play this year?

I hope we don't overreact. This team only needs minor tweaks for next year. We have one of the youngest rosters in the NFL and a lot of our players have shown some good development, while we will get some of our big guys back. We were outplayed today and Brady was off. We just couldn't get any pressure on Manning and with Talib out the young DBs couldn't hold up. But we're not too far off.

As far as off season needs we need some size on the outside, if thats Dobson then great but we need someone. We just cant keep asking Brady to thread the needle every play. It was unfair watching what he and Manning had to work with.

We also need some depth behind Jones/Nink and another DB if Talib leaves. Finally we really need some cover for Gronk.

Very good points here. It was the injuries that hurt our chances this year. IF Gronk, Wilfork, Mayo, Volmer and Kelly are playing, we are the best team in football, there's no doubt in my mind. Let's not forget that Dobson, Amendola and Thompkins were playing injured or missing games this year as well. Just way too many injuries and not enough on field talent.

A good FA period and good draft, and some injury luck from the football gods, and the Pats will be back in the SB. ****, it was amazing they made it to the AFCCG. No need to hang our heads. This was one of the most amazing Pat's seasons ever. No team in the history if football made it to the final 4 with SO MANY key players being injured.

Niners. Those drug cheat Seahawk CBs are going to get flagged every play against manning.

Re: Will Bob Kraft ever pay a big name receiver free agent

Or will they continue to go about it the "patriot way" and find old receivers that no one wants anymore.

People may think this is a overreaction, but take a second to think about how easily the moss trade could have went south. And 2007 would have been like this one. Tom brady didn't take a pay cut for this.

Time is ticking on brady's career.

They just cost more when you trow over their heads.

You pay Calvin Johnson 150 million and look at the production you get from that team.

As far as I'm concerned the Broncos O and D Line had as much to do with that win as the receivers. I'd take Gronk over any of them.

Re: Will Bob Kraft ever pay a big name free agent receiver

Hell, we don't even need to necessarily sign one; we could just draft one. I know all you homers will say I'm wrong, but how much more valuable would a guy like Dez Bryant be over McCourty? Infinitely more valuable. How much more valuable would Coderelle Patterson be over a guy like Jamie Collins? We have two maybe three years of being competitive left and we're throwing it all away.
