Re: Brady gets screwed over

Peyton overthrew two guys for TDs too. The difference is that Peyton has studs to throw to who take his 15 yards and tack on 30 more.

The OP is right about Belichick hanging Brady out to dry. He let go of Deion Branch, that cost them a Super Bowl. He passed on Demaryous Thomas to select Devin McCourty, which is a ridiculously bad trade. And last year, he somehow got into craziness with Welker. He should have gone all out to get top WR weapons last year, Emmanuel Sanders, Keenan Allen, etc.

Re: Brady gets screwed over

Need more slot receivers and TEs. A deep WR is useful too but not as much as we would hope. Like it or not, Brady is simply not very accurate on deep throws.

Yes....more slot guys!!!! Three midget white guys is not enough!!!!

Re: Brady gets screwed over

Let's review:

Gronk is hurt.
Amendola is hurt.
All 3 rookies are hurt.
Hernandez is imprisoned.
Welker stinks and will take a big pay cut in the offseason or be cut by DEN.

What, exactly did our front office do wrong again?

refuse to get one of the best QBs in the league a top notch go up and get the ball WR...for 6 years now...criminal

Re: Brady gets screwed over

Yes, they screwed up the WR situation. But that's not all that was the difference out there today.

Re: Brady gets screwed over

I agree with your points BUT he also didn't play well and do himself any favors.

He played like a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders, like he was finecombing the epilogue of his legacy or memoir instead of focusing on the task at hand, early on in his career before he was "Tom Terrific" he simply played in the moment and let the game come to him instead of being bent on accelerating its trends.

So easy to blame the QB. I don't think Brady gives a damn about legacies. Stop listening to the idiot media, they are obsessed with it. I never heard Brady mention anything about legacies once.

I saw one QB in charge of an offense that he completely trusted, and the other QB not quite sure if he can trust the players around him and I don't blame him. Once Gronk went down, the only WR I trusted was Edelman. The offensive personnel on this team was weak. We all knew this. Why are you surprised that Brady couldn't perform a miracle with this group? They did the best they could. Hell after Gronk went down, I was shocked that they got this far.

The defense had 3 of their best players out of the line up. It showed today.
This team had weaknesses on both sides of the ball. Denver exploited them. The better team won today. It would have been a nice story if the Pats won, but it wasn't meant to be.

Re: Brady gets screwed over

Brady has lost the big game 10 years in a row now. Do we really need to make an excuse for him every year ?

Re: Brady gets screwed over

Does anyone here doubt that the first throw to Matthew Slater, if that WR were Demaryous Thomas, that is a catch, and every one is say Brady can connect long downfield? Does anyone doubt that? The DB was Tony Carter on that play for heaven's sake.

Your math is off

You actually have to pay those top notch WR's.

Re: Brady gets screwed over

You all are actually talking about what you need? lol A camera filming the other team is what you need. How else do you explain a 6th round draft pick winning anything. It's over!

Re: Brady gets screwed over

exactly, we took an average Amendola over a sure-thing in Welker.
We knew about Aaron early and that Gronk woul dbe out until week 6 and didn't try and get a veteran.
Woodhead - we just let him go.

We all knew this early in the year and we overperformed.

Amendola was not their first choice, but they didn't want to have neither.

And June 26, in the grand scheme of things, is NOT early.

I'm not blaming him solely or even majorly. Just saying Brady didn't play his best even factoring his weapons into consideration. I was more aghast at the playcalling, Belichick coached desperate today. leaving points on the table

The revisionist history that is coming out is just ridiculous.

Thomas was a developmental player coming from a wishbone offense. He was far from a sure thing. Quintessential boom/bust pick and if you know anything about the Pats, you know they don't draft guys like that. That strategy has only led to the most successful franchise in the NFL.

Welker--he is the 4th option on his team and he makes $6m per year. He will either restructure or be cut in the offseason. I'm glad the Pats didn't overpay for him. The Pats got a ton of production out of the slot this year.

The Pats used two high picks on WR, including a pick higher than Keenan Allen. Again, you are just playing the result. If Keenan Allen got hurt like Dobson, no one would be talking about him.

That brings us to Emmanuel sanders. If you think he was the difference to winning and losing today, you don't know much about Emmanuel Sanders.

Re: Brady gets screwed over

If he can't throw the deep ball, why get him a deep asset.

They were in Denver though, which was at least part of the reason for the overthrows. That Denver air adds at least 5 yards to most throws and kicks.

Your history is every bit as revisionist as you claim of others.

It's not revisionist at all. Our OC chose Thomas for heaven's sake!! And it's happened ver and over and over again that Belichick has saddled Brady with the likes of Reche Caldwell and Donte Stallworth, while letting players like Deion Branch go. Dobson is the first pick in ages that has any promise, but after losing two of your top WRs, you have to load up, and Keenan Allen is a guy who produced in college.

Re: Brady gets screwed over

Look. I think.its pretty clear what the answer is here.

Brady is or has been the best qb in the league for a decade and if you told the pats they HAD to go into next season with a qb not named Brady thete isn't a chance in hell they could find someone better.

With that kind of leverage its tom Brady's fault for not.kindly telling Kraftto **** off wwhenhe says he ddon't take orders from brady.

My point is he has no one to blame but him self. Hed have zero problems finding a job and one with a raise if he so chose. He didnt. Manning walked into Denver who was a qb away from an elite qb. Imagine if brady had a chance to do.that instead of starting over. Manning in Indy is sitting at home.

So if you can't guess i blame Brady. He wasnt making good.throws either and it didnt help he was playing with the 1950s boston Celtics.

Re: Brady gets screwed over

The plan was to have Gronk and the ******* murderer in the middle and the WR not all getting hurt. Brady was screwed over by bad luck not by the front office.

Going into the year, they had Gronk/Hernandez/Vereen/Amendola/Edelman and the 3 rookies, one of whom is a "go up and get the ball WR". That is not enough for Tommy Boy? He also needs Larry Fitzgerald?

If you go back to the draft, there were a lot of fans here saying he should have doubled up on WRs, and for us, Allen was the #1 pick.
