So let me get this straight. You are having a football discussion where you think the league is out to get the Patriots and someone doesn't agree. You decide to change your argument to calling the guy disagreeing with you stupid and dishonest, and I ask whether that is really necessary, and you are saying I am not having an adult discussion.

I understand that you feel the league is out to get the Patriots, but someone else not feeling that way is not stupid or lying, and someone who wonders why you were calling them stupid or a liar is injecting maturity into the argument not the opposite.

Do you call the teacher who stops the child from having a temper tantrum incapable of undertanding the child on an adult level?

What exactly is "Johnny One Way". Is it anything like telling me what i mean my clicking like to a post, and acting like i'm lying when I give you the reason?

I can't comment on this being directed at upstater1 one way or another, and I have no opinion on this matter, but I do find your thoughts on Steeler fans to be quite accurate.

For a fanbase who supposedly prides themselves on being so tough and hard-edged, they are complete whiners in every sense.

It's having blinders on. As in, when someone is constantly using insults like a petulant child, I respond to him by saying he doesn't have the honesty and intelligence (in my view, constant name calling show the weakness of an argument, not the strength, and it also shows a low level of intelligence) to be part of a discussion. Sorry you don't see it that way.

As to the other part of it, from what I saw he was attacking your OPINION you attacked his intelligence and honesty, which I just find lame and uncalled for. I didn't read every post, but yours was the only one I saw that was attacking the person rather than the opinion.

This thread is embarrassing. Lining up excuses already and we haven't even played the game. If we lose it is going to have nothing to do with Goodell.

This is one of the dumbest threads I've ever read. We're one of the most popular franchises in sports. We receive insane ratings. The NFL makes a boatload of money off of games in which the Patriots are involved. Goodell is having wet dreams at the possibility of a Patriots Super Bowl in New York. The NFL is in a no-lose position with this final four.

To say that Roger Goodell give enough of a crap to fix games at the risk of destroying a multi-billion dollar enterprise is laughable. Play sports at a high level, understand the difficulty of executing, and compound that with how tough it would be to subtly officiate a football game to a desired outcome and none of it makes sense. Goodell was commissioner during SB XLII. It took a play that probably could be practiced 1,000 times with only 2 or 3 successful outcomes to beat us. Was that planned by the commissioner? If Mario Manningham's shoe size was a half-size bigger, we likely win SB XLVI as well. Goodell? Did he jam Mario's feet into an 11 when it should be a 12?

And, Roger Goodell screwed the Patriots royally over Spygate, treating them 180 degrees differently than he treated the Jets when they did the exact same thing (film from the end zone), so it was absolutely no wonder that his righthand man was celebrating with the Jets a year later in a victory over the Patriots. You want to free yourself from charges of bias and favoritism? Then treat people the same way, and don't give openly display your impartiality to the media. Two simple suggestions. It's crazy that not enough Patriots fans see this, but the Stockholm Syndrome is working for Goodell.

Not sure if brought up yet but I would think from a business standpoint having the east coast Patriots fanbase would bring in a lot more money since the other 3 teams are from out west.
