Pats vs donks

Out of curiousity: Not that it makes a huge difference but does anyone have an estimate of the # of players remaining on broncos roster from McDaniel's tenure there? I know scheme-wise his experience there means nothing but wondering exactly how familiar he might be with player stengths / weaknesses

If Shane Vereen played like he did against the Colts we are probably going to lose. He needs to be a factor in our Passing Game. We don't have that much at Receiver for him to be posting subpar numbers. Vereen needs to get his head in the game.

Blount - Entered beast mode

LMAO. Nice.

For those who like Football Outsiders they have a succinct number to reflect the Broncos' defense with and without Von Miller. Of course other changes could have occured but with that said :

Against the Run the Broncos were 8th best both with and without Miller. They got a little worse with him but the ranking didn't change.

Against the Pass the Broncos went from 29th to 8th when Miller returned. Without him teams were 30.9% more successful per pass play than average. With him teams were 9.9% less successful per pass play than average.

I'd give them Miller back to get Gronk back but Miller is a huge loss.

Those stats can be found here :

Just above "WHEN THE BRONCOS HAVE THE BALL".

May I suggest we don't allow any Donk fans in the forum this week?!!:D

Whether we are run-oriented or pass-oriented, I think we need to use a LOT of no-huddle. When the Chargers finally did that in the 4th quarter, the Denver pass rush totally disappeared and the lanes opened up wide.

I call bs

I was in the army here and I think I was pretty active. Some people it just doesn't bother, the affects take time to show and for those that feel it immediately they are typically out of shape to begin with. I'm not going n to argue about it because I know the facts. O2 at 20k feet Yeh no kidding. I do 14'ers and never needed o2

Yes, I laugh at O2 on the sideline

I live in Colorado also

This.

When I first visited out here, like I've said before, it is noticeable. For me it was, anyway. But you rapidly adjust.

I regularly play golf and run out here, with no problem. (I walk playing golf, I do not use a cart except in extreme heat!)

My sister, on the other hand, can't and won't, indulge in the altitudes. She literally gets sick, and the last time she did that, she slept for 22 out of 24 hours in one span. For some reason, her body just won't take it. (She currently resides in that sea-level state, Florida.)

Personally, I think any endeavor above 13,000 or 14,000 feet would require O2, but unless you're an out-of-shape 300 pounder, oxygen is rarely, if ever, required at 5,280.

But again, one's physiology is the overriding determining factor here.

For most of these guys, it won't be an issue, especially given the forecasted weather report for Sunday.

Nope...then we'll be losers like most of them.

I still suggest it....last thing we need to do is spend all week discussing who is better, Manning or Brady

So on espn boston patriots blog, there is a link to a video with the following description:
Peyton Manning talks about Denver's win against San Diego in the divisional round and the adversity the Broncos have overcome this season.

I'm not sure what kind of adversity they are referring to?

WE LOST SOME GAMES!!!!!!!!!

WHAT MORE ADVERSITY DO YOU WANT????

No, they've lost a couple of players over the course of the season (starting with Ryan Clady), so they have had some difficulties, but a couple of weeks ago, the Post ran a story about this very subject, and it wasn't until the last paragraph of the story that they mentioned the Patriots led the league in man-games lost, and they seemed to do so in a rather off-handed manner.

But then, anything that pushes the public perception of the team's persecution by the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune seems to be the working story line.

It makes for good water cooler conversation, tho

Tony Dungy: Peyton Manning will play "light's out" in championship game » The Dan Patrick Show | Official Home

Dungy said the officiating is going to be huge in the championship games. He said the Seahawks’ DBs are going to hang all over the Niners’ receivers. And same with the Patriots. The officiating could go a long way in determining the winners.

– Dungy said that Manning is a creature of habit, so if you’re going to get him, you better get him in the divisional round. “I think he’s going to play light’s out this week,” Dungy said.

ok then

That game still has left a bad taste

Definitely the worst other than the SB losses. I wasn't as devastated when we lost to the Ravens twice, or to the Jets in the divisional because we stunk the house out in all of those games. We were owning the Colts on our way to the SB and then the train suddenly derailed. Ughh.

That was really hard to stomach. The second worst loss I have ever experienced as a Pats fan.

The second Giants SB loss hurt a little but not nearly as much as the first one did. I didn't expect the Pats to beat the Packers or the Bears back in the day so they really didn't really bother me for long.

But yes I'd definitely put that Colts loss second behind the Helmet Catch game. Absolutely brutal. Couldn't sleep after that.

Still haunts me...but not as bad as the helmet catch, :steamed:,

IIRC, the play that turned that game was a holding call early in the 3rd qtr with a 21 point lead.... The Pats were driving deep in Colts territory, Faulk caught a pass in the flat that would have been a first down, but was called back and the drive stalled with no points.
All down hill from there :nooo: , payback time !!! ;)

tough call......But I still think Jim Nance wants to do Peyton more than Dungy, just sayin :D

And to think the Pats are accused of having the refs make up calls to bail them out.

Two words... "Face Guarding".

Well, if St. Tony says that, I feel really comfortable now!

superbowl odds as per vegas

SEA 19/10, DEN 2/1, SF 3/1, Patriots 9/2

If he is a creature of habit then good for us...we will win if that's the case
