I'm sure most of you remember this day unless you have conveniently blacked it out. This is the day when somehow a rip in the space time continuum formed over that crap hole of a stadium in Indianapolis and we allowed The Great Satan, aka The Forehead, to come back from a 21-3 deficit and steal our chance at yet another Superbowl victory. Somehow we allowed The Forehead to reach the Superbowl in a year when even he couldn't screw up winning it.

We have spent the past 7 years in hell paying off the bad karma for this horrific crime against nature:

16-0, undefeated, the most prolific offense in NFL history only to lose the most important game of the year to a complete doofus in mind boggling fashion. Brady tears his ACL. One and done to the Ravens. One and done to the Jets after going 14-2 and securing HFA. Doofus Bowl the Second Coming. Gronk gets hurt again and again. One of our pistol selfie shooting TE's is charged with murder. We lose half the team to injuries.

I don't know which one of you jackwagons broke a mirror or stepped on a black cat 7 years ago but this crap has to stop.

Next Sunday is our chance to redeem ourselves. I suggest you all figure out what the hell you did to piss off the universe and atone for it immediately because we cannot continue living in this bizarro world.

I do not think it is any coincidence that we enter this game riding our running game and defense. You know, the things that we used to do back when we won Super Bowls. It is time to exorcise the demons that have haunted us the past 7 years.

BEGONE FOREHEAD, BACK TO HELL YOU GO! THE POWER OF BRADY COMPELS YOU!

100% agree. Let's finish this and get back to what we do, win championships

Comparing Satan to Manning is a little over the top.

First off, there were several questionable calls in that game that went against the Pats that I still don't agree with to this day. An official apology was given by the NFL later regarding the phantom face guarding penalty.

Bottom line the Pats didn't get it done in the 2nd half defensively or offensively. The Pats front office put themselves in that position by not signing Branch(right or wrong) or getting a viable replacement. Going into the season with R Caldwell as your number 1 is never a good idea as evidenced by the potential game winning drive drop.

That game irked me because I'm pretty sure they would of Crushed the Bears and cementing number 4.

Time to redeem ourselves.

I think there are a fair amount of comparisons to the current 2013 season and that 2006 season.

Both teams went 12-4 and overachieved on some level. Both teams had at least one or more periods throughout their years where we weren't too sure of their identities, and that held true throughout the last game. Both seasons had an offense that had to adjust on the fly, with very limited talent in certain areas, mainly with struggles in the wide receiving game. Both teams had offenses that were in the mid to late 20's in terms of offensive production, and both teams faced Manning on his home turf vs a potent offense.

The main difference was that our 2006 defense was much, much better--only giving up 14.8 ppg, which was ranked #2 in the NFL that year.

Hmmmm...where have I recently seen a comparison like that in terms of failing to resign a key WR, and heading into the season with a group of misfits at the position, only to come up short?

;)

Not this time supa. It is time to reclaim what is ours. Time to beat the broncos and win another title.

Hmm....yeah....I would have to go with....NO!

Full circle? Really? Manning is on a different team with a whole new cast of characters.

Believe it or not, Manning is not the only player on the Denver Broncos; just as Brady is not the only player on The Patriots.

People tend to reach into the past like it was a crystal ball to show them the future; Both Brady and Manning are different players than they were 7 years ago; they have different strengths and weaknesses which people never want to take into account.

When i see stats like BRADY IS 2-0 AGAINST PHILLIP RIVERS IN THE PLAYOFFS; i wonder how the hell that matters exactly? This is exactly like that.

Will the Patriots be able to beat the Broncos again? It comes down to the trenches where it usually does. Can the Patriots run the ball against the Broncos? Can the Patriots get to Manning?

The Broncos have a more talented Receiving corps than the Patriots do so will our Secondary be able to slow them down?

I couldn't give a rat's ass about how many touchdowns Manning threw against us 7 years ago.

This game will come down to stopping manning on a few key drives and executing a balanced offense throughout the majority of the game.

Well, I'd view full circle a little differently. How I think it's kind of applicable here is:

- That AFCCG pushed Belichick into the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" category regarding offensive strategy. He decided to embrace the Polian-rules and built a ruthless offense from 2007 - 2012. Yet they failed to win the big game, much like those early Colt teams. For various reasons, we're back with an offense that looks like the pre-2007 ones, and here we are again facing a high-powered Manning offense in the AFCCG on their home field. That's full-circle.

- To a fan like me (aka common clay of the new west, you know, a moron), the 2006 Pats team had a great defense. Yet the Colts/Manning exposed something that day I hadn't realized at that point - how they didn't have a good coverage linebacker once Pfifer retired. With Rodney on IR unable to play the hybrid role, they resorted to playing Eric freaking Alexander as coverage linebacker with not so good results (the backup safety play was also exposed). It took 7 years, but Saturday night was the first time since then that I thought we finally have that coverage linebacker. It's nice to get a 2nd chance now with that in our arsenal.

I think we've had a lot of curious circumstances surrounding our team during this amazing era. Losing 31-0 over Buffalo to open 2003 only to beat them 31-0 to close that regular season. Beating the Colts in a memorable 2003 game 38-34 on a goal-line stand only to lose the 2006 AFCCG 38-34 when they couldn't pull off a goal-line stand. Blowing an 18 point 2nd quarter road lead to Manning's team in that game, while Manning's team blows a 24 point 3rd quarter road lead to us this year. Pulling off one of the greatest upsets in NFL history in the 2001 Superbowl, only to have the tables turned in the 2007 Superbowl. The 2011 Billy Cundiff missed FG followed by the Justin Tucker "made" field goal in the 2012 regular season game. This just seems like another of those curious circumstances to me. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

let me go put on my burlack sack and let me fast for the week. Week of Atonement!:faint::kev:

The hilarity of this post may have escaped some people, but not me. Well done.

Even as a Manning fan, i've lost it right there ---> "We have spent the past 7 years in hell paying off the bad karma for this horrific crime against nature". :D That part was hilarious, i mean, literally, it was really funny. I guess no love is lost between you and Peyton. :D

post of the year!!!

The world views us as the worst of the 4 teams standing, whereas in the losses to Indy and the Giants we were supposed to win (and could have won all 3 but for a few freak plays).

What I like this time around is the opportunity to come out of nowhere and get our vengeance. Absolutely nothing would be sweeter, it would beat even 2001.
