Collins is going to be tested all game long. The game will be decided with whoever can get the other off the field the fastest.

Once again the plan to address the weaknesses in the LB coverage area did not seem to work out well enough, mainly due to injuries and rookie learning curves; although the hope is obviously that Collins and Hightower continue to improve, along with hopefully retaining Fletcher too. I would still love to see that hybrid S/LB role addressed again either via the draft or in free agency.

BB can work on LB depth right after he and his entire staff completely and 100% address the DT spot......:D

I'll have to check on that number. From my understanding, I thought it was 2 but honestly I could be wrong. I do know that plenty of people on my dad's crew have not worked and he does have a game coming up so 3 may be the number.
From this blog entry by Reiss, he states that for Saturday's game, Morelli, along with two other officials from his regular season crew, will do the game.

From that link:

But the umpire is Garth DeFelice of Clete Blakeman's crew, and he was a central figure in reversing the initial end-zone penalty for pass interference on Rob Gronkowski at the end of the loss to the Panthers.
:bricks:

But on the other hand, there's also a guy from Steratore's crew and they are the best in the league by some distance.

I see this way, the Pats need to go to the playoffs this year with a kamikaze attitude, taking risks, like underdogs that we may are with so many injuries, this team is alternating great performances with some poor ones, on the playoffs there will be no mercy.

Saturday this team need to go to the half time with at least 17 points on the scoreboard, they should go for it, not like last year that BB was punting from the 30 yard line of the Ravens field. The defense is much better this year but the way they play is still very easy to the other teams to get at least to the 50 yard line, so if you're around 40 yard of the Colts field, go for it.

I'm pretty sure the Colts will take these risks unless they get 2 possessions ahead early. We need to lead this game from 60 minutes and give them no chance.

. @MikeReiss: Rookie WR Aaron Dobson (foot) remains out of practice for the Patriots. Seems unlikely he will play at this point.

Dobson update.

Dobson update.

That's a shame. Very much doubt he plays Saturday. Looks like the team will have to give the defense a steady dose of the run game in the red zone or passes to Vereen in the flats.

as long as one of Dobson/Thompkins is healthy to play the X receiver and give us a bigger threat in the red-zone. likely one or the other wasnt going to see much field time.

3WR sets of

Thompkins X-receiver, Edelman, Amendola

and collie if you want to go 4 wide.

perhaps belicheck is saving him if they get to the AFCCG

By tested, do you mean in pass coverage? Collins can't be anything but an improvement over Spikes in that area.

Not the end of the world - hopefully he's thinking makeup call.

At the end of the day we lost to carolina, but i believe we lucked out in playing indy over San Diego, which the 2 seed allows us to do.

Dobson didn't practice today, which means he's out for sat.

Dang, sucks Dobson will be out but I guess it is lucky that he wasn't IRed immediately and might play.

Right, what I meant is as long as One of Thompkins or Dobson is ready to go.

Looks like Thompkins will be good to go.

A little worried that Brady's cold is actually the flu. I know a lot of people have caught the flu lately.

wont post a link but both gasper and shaugnessy have some pathetic columns today

At least they are consistent in there patheticness.

With the patriots ranked 3rd in rush defense, BB will take away the deep routes and prevent long runs, force luck to bring the ball up to the redzone, once in the redzone, bunker down on the run defense, and force luck to make mistakes and throw picks.

3rd? Do you mean 3rd to last? They rank 30th against the run this year (by yards allowed).

Still no dobson at practice...so he probably won't play

regardless of what the stats are I think thats the game plan against the colts.
