Colts sign Deion Branch

unless deion is going there, give the colts false information to help his pal Brady, get his paycheck and retire...

Ok can you show something to make prove that?

Don't you usually make you claims of knowledge over in patriots world where poster believe you?

The probability that Brady isn't petty.

I not usually described as homeristic I have more of an issue with people being greedy and are willing to jeopardize something people they know who actually worked their asses off to get a chance at something. If Branch played as much as a snap this season or he was signed through next season I wouldn't have an issue but the fact is he doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs at all, he didn't do anything to get here and now he stands in the way of players who fought through endless adversity.

If a guy who hasn't played all season "stands in the way" of anyone, they probably don't deserve to win anyways.

Again, I'd have no issue with your point of view if you just said "Deion Branch was on the Patriots and it makes me mad that he's playing for the Colts because I don't like them."

To try and paint this as some sort of treacherous assault on integrity in the most disloyal of professions is silly. Your perspective also assumes that he preferred to sit at home and didn't want to play anymore, which is easily debunked considering he flew to Indy to work out with the Colts in hope of earning a roster spot weeks ago. I'm curious as to how many players would say "No, I've been sitting at home all year and despite my desire to continue my career, but I'll pass up this opportunity to possibly have one more shot and just 2 games until the Super Bowl because the opponent this week is a team that wanted nothing to do with me this year. I appreciate the offer, but I'm not interested in your $25K+ for a few days of work. I don't want anyone to get mad at me."

Should Belichick have kept Underwood on the roster for SB XLVI?

Well, I'm in the film for which you chose your username after. So there's that.

But primarily, it's because I understand the NFL and the mentality of players who compete at that level.

And for the record, as a fan, I don't like seeing Branch in a Colts uniform. Primarily because he's a guy I liked and they're a team that used to be a pretty heated rival.

But I get it.

I have to agree with the folks who think this is not a confidence inspiring move by Indy 4 days before the game. The Colts didn't win because of a game plan, they won because KC had massive injuries in the game and couldn't adjust their own game plan to compensate.

I knew this was coming sooner or later. It was being teed up for you.

Listen like I said I'm not saying I'm right and others are wrong I'm just saying I don't like Branch's decision and find it to be a slap in the face to a franchise that gave him his chance and so much more. I don't think he needed to play one game that bad it's unnecessary and not worth what it does to his patriots legacy.

But that makes the assumption that he cares about a "Patriots legacy" or that it can be tarnished by one game.

Ty Law seems to be doing OK on the pre game/postgame shows despite having played for the Jets.

Unless you've been in that desperate position that many athletes are in where they just want to hang on and do what they've always done, it's hard to judge. That's why I give them the benefit of the doubt.

I couldn't help it. Damnit.

It was great. It was like watching a comedy where they're setting up the ***** slap for about 10 minutes before they really let it go.

The moment I saw your first post in this thread, I knew I had to stick around for the payoff.

yeah...I think I'll give Reche the benefit of the doubt too...and he can give ME the benefit of a quick look at his mugshot....can you imagine THOSE bug eyes?

I like to think that I was only this predictable because you were fed inside information about my posting tendencies by one of my exes who signed up for this board within the past four days. No loyalty. *****.

or you’re not actually a Patriots fan who has any interest in this team winning the game

y all you're doing is calling to question your own loyalty as a fan

I think we all have things we attempt to hang onto man but when that comes at the expense of people who put in the work and have gone to battle with you in past many of whom like Edelman, Solder, Ridley, Jones, McCourty and others who have never won a championship and you have twice and there is a possibility that you will be cut in a week and you're just being used to for information gathering, personally I can't offer that person the benefit of the doubt.

So to make sure I understand...you're saying that Deion Branch should not continue to play NFL football because it may interfere with Julian Edelman, Nate Solder, Stevan Ridley, Chandler Jones, and Devin McCourty's ability to win a Super Bowl?

Do you understand how insanely competitive pro athletes are? Or have you considered the fact that maybe Deion just isn't that close with those guys?

Maybe that's why we lost XLII. Tommy was like "Eli hasn't won one yet."

Manx that's how I see as I said I'm not claiming to be right but when I see people defending a decision like this by Branch it seems rather odd. Michigan Dave giving him the benefit of the doubt I can understand but you posting that I'm wrong for finding issue with it for the past 5 hours seems odd for a fan of the Patriots. Let me be mad about it why do you even care does me saying it's ok that Branch do this really change you life in anyway. I'm not usually a homer about stuff you know that so let me be a homer on this one and stop fighting me on it.

My first reaction was "Meh". I don't get the whole loyalty angle. These are professional athletes playing in a cut-throat league where players are unmercifully cut in sometimes really unfortunate situations. Pats chose not to re-sign Branch this year. When injuries came around, they chose an oft-concussed player over him. Good for him to get a late paycheck and potentially one more playoff run.

Physically, he is close to done and will likely contribute little on Sat. If the signing fires up Brady, even a little, but allowing him to play against one of his best friends, even better.

Some posters take this stuff waaay too personally.

No I'm saying that if he wasn't even invited to training camp by a team he should be aware of the real reason he is being signed and knowing that choose against that. He is not continuing his career, the Colts intentions are not sincere and I will be surprised if he even dresses on Sunday. He is being used as a pawn.
