Colts sign Deion Branch

I have to be honest. As someone who flies a lot, reading about a pilot who get so easily riled up and also may carry a gun on a flight makes me pretty nervous.

At least you wouldn't have to worry about the flight being hijacked.

I think whether it's rational or irrational as a Patriots fan you shouldn't be defending Branch. What Branch is doing however small is putting this team at further risk, as a fan you should not be advocating on his behalf right now if you do not agree that it was wrong than you should remain silent because theoretically all you're doing is calling to question your own loyalty as a fan when by supporting a man who is putting this teams chances at a Super Bowl at a further risk than they were yesterday.

LOL

10 char.

You'd have loved Baseball's reserve clause. Would sit well with your view that a footballer has to subvert his rights for the benefit of his team. And yes we do have "a different view on appreciation, gratitude, loyalty and doing right by those who have done right by you". Mine's rational.

Well at least if we lose on Sunday do to something Branch either tips them on or does you'll know that you were the poster with the rational post.

I doubt Branch even dresses. They have 4 receivers healthy who have caught balls for them. They were looking for a warm body for the scout team, and Branch was available. That he is a former Patriot is a bonus.

Austin "Apparently Worse Than Benedict Arnold" Collie can do the same thing for the Patriots this week, for what it's worth, given that he was on the Colts roster last season. Which, you know, was the last time Branch played for the Patriots, too.

Or most of us think it isn't a big deal. And that it will have no bearing on the result of the game.

My rational mind tells me that the difference between the Pats and the Colts is not going to be Deoin Branch.

Like I said it doesn't matter how little chance there is that it helps the Colts we're still talking about a player who went to battle with many the players on this roster last season signing on to play against them 6 days before they play. These players fought all season and overcame endless adversity and Branch has been home relaxing. I find that to be disgraceful you don't... Whatever...

So, to sum up:

Colts worked out Branch weeks ago

Colts need WR replacement for injured DHB

Branch needs job

Colts offer Branch Contract

Branch accepts offer

A group of Patriots fans get butthurt and show their asses like monkeys.

Comedy ensues

Great thread! :thumb:

You utterly fail to grasp the import that the Twig's signing is the most perfidious defection since General Benedict Arnold went over to the Brit Pats giving them Washington's plans for Monticello. OK, wrong president, but still, you get the idea. When he comes to Gillette we should all stand, turn around and give him the famous "Braveheart" display.

Alternatively, this couldn't be some dark, insidious machination by BB to use The Twig to insert a "virus" into the Colts game plan, could it?

Yeah but it could be Manx and you're in here advocating that, that possibility is OK and taking issue with me for finding it to be disloyal.

It depends on whether or not his laptop will be able to sync with the alien technology.

If Deion makes a great play or less likely has a very good game overall then that is awesome for him. It'll suck for us if we lost like that but I won't hold some grudge that he played well. That is petty.

Are you upset about some fictional disloyalty of Branch or inexplicably scared of the guy?

branch has nothing to offer.....the pats passing game as well as their running game is completely different from last year.

this is just to get into the pats heads....sounds like a desperate move

Because the organization had no use for him anymore. You think Branch wouldn't have preferred to play for the Pats this weekend? He's a football player. He has a small (and almost closed) window to play the game he loves. He now has a chance to continue that career while competing for a championship.

The notion that this sport is something more than a business to the players who are used by teams so long as they have value and then forced to reduce their pay, traded away, or cut.

The part about going to battle last year is just that...last year. I suppose it's disgusting to you if Austin Collie plays against the Colts Saturday. And was gross when Corey Dillon played for us against the Bengals.

I'm happy that Deion has a shot at keeping his career alive. Good for him. I'm not scared of him on the field--he doesn't bring much anymore--and find the "information" angle laughable. The best information a team can get about an opponent is having faced them on the field.

No, I'm taking issue with your definition of disloyal.

I view it as disloyal as I am sure Brady and the other players that went to battle him for the past 3 seasons do when the see a guy who has done nothing to help a team get to this point step in 6 days before and insert himself as a possible road block in their pursuit.

Do you think Branch achieves what he did in his NFL career without Brady and Belichick? Seattle fans would argue otherwise, repayment for that is to jump in having endured no of what they have this season and add to the challenge?

Collie has been here since 10/3/13. He is not coming along right in time to face the Colts. Timing is just as important as the decision in many cases.

So a unemployed player gets a call a few weeks ago to have a workout. He does. 3 weeks later they call him and ask him to play he signs. But in your world he is suppose to turn down the contract out of loyalty to a company he hasn't worked for in a year.

Taking out the hate for McDaniels did you have a problem with him signing to coach remainder of 2011 season a week before Broncos game?

I don't think players should be allowed to sign contracts in the playoffs unless they've played at least a snap in the regular season. I don't like the fact that Branch has decided to insert himself as a speed bump on for the players that fought all season to get to this point especially when many of those players were his teammates and helped him in the past.

Most of all I don't like the fact that I am arguing with patsfans on a patsfans website as the defend someone who is now the enemy.

You just made this up. It's a meaningless statement.

How do you no? Oh that's right you don't know that Brady considers it disloyal anymore than I know that he does.

So what you're saying is that you have no experience in athletics at a high level. Gotcha.

Carry on with this idealistic nonsense. It's at the least quite amusing.

Brady is happy that his buddy is playing again and excited about the opportunity to face him on Saturday should it present itself.

Disloyal. :rofl::rofl::rofl:
