How do you rate Andrew Luck?

OK, I would rather face Luck than the rest. How does that mean that we shouldn't be concerned? Luck is a very capable quarterback.

Thankfully, only fans will not be concerned with Luck

Hes probably top 10.

Tier1
Brady
Manning
Brees
Rodgers

Tier2
Rivers
Rothlesberger

Tier3
Newton
Luck
Wilson
Foles (small sample but looking 27 and 2 is tough to argue with)

Notice how mister Elite Joe Flacco is nowhere to be found, that guy pulled off the caper of the century with his contract.

I think you inverted the tiers #2 and #3

I watched a live game at Lucas Oil Stadium this season. It was the opener. Luck's OL was playing poorly, but in every case he made a great decision with the football. His stats may or may not have been good, but seeing the entire field and only Wayne getting open consistently he knew when to pull it down and run or threw to the best possible target. He was under pressure the entire game.

He showed me something.

NO DOUBT the guy is football savvy and well-polished. Arguably, perhaps even moreso than Manning - not Eli :D. It remains to be seen, but it is looking very nice for Indy over the next decade plus (with the other luck). Luck has already PROVEN he can be a HUGE factor in the playoffs. He KILLS Manning (either - :D) in that category. This kid may be the purest young QB in the league (Wilson and he would be a helluva battle for that title). Kaep, Newton, and RGIII are good, but they are not pure - they will rely on their legs before their arms - I do not think Wilson and Luck are that way. I hope we can find our Luck when Brady is ready to give this all up.

Because that is what you face at this stage.
Its like saying we are scared to face the 6th (or 5,7,8 whatever) best team in the divisional round. What do you expect you are facing?

I don't get 'concern'. Its a playoff game, we should expect to face a team at least this good with a QB at least this good.

He didn't, but Rivers was borderline tier 1 this year (as he had been in the past, ignoring the last two years) and there's a tier 2 of Roethlisberger and Romo (I know the media narrative, but how do people forget about him?) before Stafford, Luck, Wilson, and Newton.

I don't buy Foles quite yet, Kaepernick is inconsistent, I would have put Eli and Ryan in these groups last year but look at them, and Sam Bradford might be in contention if he had been healthy all season. RG3 would probably be in contention if he was ever healthy.

I like Luck. I actually don't hate the Colts right now because I like Luck.
I don't think a Peyton lead Colts team wins this past weekend. I think they wilt.

Luck lead Colts won.

But I don't know what "the next one" means in today's NFL.

Will he win a Superbowl? Maybe. Probably eventually...
Will he win multiple?

Tall order.

I think Luck is scary good. We haven't seen a QB with his physical prowess and skillset in a long time. It's going to take a lot to put him with the greats, but right now i think they're are only 6 QBs in the NFL that are matchup proof and can carry a team on their back week in and week out: those are Brady, Rodgers, Manning, Brees, Big Ben and Luck. There's a reason why these teams are consistently in the hunt.

Luck is not better than Brees, Rivers and Manning.

If it happens, Manning with all his weapons vs the Pats is going to be battle. I dont see a battle vs Luck and the Colts. Brees will light you up. Rivers game is very much like NEs offense which is why Woodhead fits so well.. Kapernick was ripping off 40 yard runs like they were nothing yesterday.

KC fell apart (Coaching, Offense and Defense) vs Indy and that played a huge part in facilitating the Colts comeback. Of the QBs left, Luck is lowest on the totem pole unless Cam implodes.

He's the real deal- Indy couldn't have grabbed a better replacement to manning.

Brees
Manning
Brady
Rivers

Luck is an elite player and he's just starting out.

The thing about Luck that is scary is that he is a freak of nature athlete. His intelligence, preparation is already elite, but he's a 6'5 tank (in the mold of Cam/Big Ben) and extremely mobile. Some of the plays last week to Hilton we're as good as any QB i have seen. He's only in his second year and the game is already getting slow to him (it's not like the Chiefs have a bad defense). He's up there with the elite. The one thing he doesn't have is weapons, he has an average run game and lost 2 of his best weapons this year in Wayne and Allen. Hilton is a speed guy and Brazil, Whalen, Fleener do not scare me

I agree with most on this.

Andrew Luck to me, has the most potential of any of these young QBs. I love Russel Wilson but his ceiling is Drew Brees. Luck's is higher.

I'll mostly agree, but Kaepernick isn't a top-10 QB consistently. Stafford and Romo are definitely more deserving of that distinction; I'd probably put Romo above Roethlisberger, too.

Romo is far ahead of Stafford man

The Colts are set for the next decade with this kid. He's the real deal in every way.

I believe he has phenomenal potential with a skill set few could claim (arm strength, accuracy, mobility/speed, and intelligence). People quickly forget he is still a relative newbie (2nd year), and thus is still learning the game.

He is a very good QB right now, but I would not call him great. With experience and no injuries, and the right supporting cast, I see him becoming the best in the NFL. It is easy to forget he has slightly less than RG3's quickness (4.6 to 4.41 - Kaepernick is 4.53), more size, but is advertised as a pocket passer. That is a very dangerous combination, with plenty of possibilities.

At this point, he has adjusted to NFL speed and can hit his passes, but appears to depend on his security blanket (Wayne). He has found Hilton, but just hasn't seemed as seamless without Wayne. I expect there is a difference between executing a play as directed and surveying the field as Brady tends to do. That comes with time and experience.
