Colts sign Deion Branch

See my post below, do you think that nobody who has a job in this world is offered something that would be betray the organizations or corporations that have done right by them in order to benefit themselves?

Again, 'betrayal' in the business world is a pretty foolish term to throw around. And in RE to your previous post, I'm simply not going to take someone seriously when they compare signing for a different sports team to soldiers fighting for enemy countries or cops promoting anarchy. It has to be one of the most immature comparisons ever.

What are the Patriots blacklisting him from? The Twitter feed? The Belichick family cookout? They're not paying him, and since they chose not to sign him this year when they desperately needed receivers, I would hazard a guess that they'll never pay him again, whether he loves the team or is burning effigies of Belichick and Kraft in public.

The only way to truly be loyal to the Patriots is to commit seppuku once you're cut free.

The Colts didn’t want him for 17 games and now all of sudden they do – Gee I wonder why.

Like I said if I lose my medical Delta will get rid of me, should I turn on them and sell trade secrets to other organizations? It’s just business right? Good for me I have the right to make money...

No offense but if you’re defending the move Branch is making here it implies to me that you’d do the same thing, I would not do it, I consider loyalty to be a lost trait and the main reason this society finds itself in so much ruin constantly.

Depends if you have a no compete or no disclosure contract.

Branch does not.

LOYALTY DOES NOT EXIST IN SPORTS!

The Pats cut him twice last year and chose to not give him a new contract for 2013. So if they didn't show him loyalty, why should he?

Any player who is a free agent has only loyalty to himself and family.

A month ago you said you claimed to be an air marshal.

I'm not really certain other country's airlines would want the dirt on American airlines, either. Here's how you can make your food really bad, guys.

I am a pilot and I took the certification to carry onboard as many pilots have done since 9/11. If you read back in my posts I clearly explained this several times, I never said I was an air marshal either I said I was a flight marshal because I can only perform the duties when in flight situations require it.

If you’re going to attempt to call me out and suggest I was making a fool of myself at least get your facts straight before touching the keyboard.

I don't actually care, I hope you know this, but boy are you fun to troll.

Can someone photo shop Deion's face on to this?

The height is perfect ... 5'9" ...

As I said I was exaggerating to make a point, obviously there is a significant difference but in essences it is the same type of thing, you turn on one group that has been good to you historically and provide potentially detrimental information to its enemy in exchange for something that may benefit you.

I understand the business world and the fact the NFL is a business still does not make it right, you cannot just say this is a business and that excuses the nature of your actions. Yes it was a business move but it was also a betrayal to the players, coaches and franchise that had given him many opportunities, throw a bow around it that a business decision if you want but it is still a traitorous move.

I have get fired up about betrayal and traitorous behavior I really do I will admit it, so if you want to get a rise out of me this is a good discussion to do so. I find Deion’s decision to be extremely disappointing and I think he will feel that disappointment himself on Sunday when he is either inactive or plays a handful of snaps, at that time he will realize that he was used and that his selfishness blinded him from seeing that potential and he will regret that when every Patriots player walks by him like he is a ghost and the fake smiles that existed prior to the game in the Colts locker room are gone.

I kinda agree with this. Branch can go to hell. Between the Hernandez comments and this, who needs him.

What. Did he say something negative about our murderer?

I don't think athletes give a damn about this stuff.

Any player who is a free agent has only loyalty to himself and family.

1. Because they drafted him 2 rounds ahead of where he was projected to go and gave him an opportunity to play in the NFL.
2. Because they gave him the opportunity to play in 3 super bowls and win 2 championships.
3. Because they gave him the opportunity to build a career that allowed him to earn north of $45 million dollars over the past 12 years.
4. Because they brought him back and gave him a chance to end his career on a positive note when he was days from being out of the NFL completely in 2010.
5. Because they brought him back in 2012 even though he was clearly not capable of playing at a high level in order to have good bye tour.

I mean should I keep going, let me ask you this what has Branch done for the Patriots other than take and then do what is best for him even if it hurt the Patriots?

This is the best news I've heard all day considering the only way Branch can create speed and separation nowadays is with a Segway and flame thrower.

I usually don't subscribe to the theory that sometimes ex- Pats players are strictly signed to furnish the new team with playbook info but if there ever was a case this is it.

I don’t think people give a damn about that **** anymore and that is going to continue to be a problem that is detrimental to our society.

Anyway I am over this subject, the guy is a washed up bum who will either be inactive or barely play, he will have no factor in the decision of the game. I said my piece and I am done now.

No hard feelings to anyone that I have interacted with in this thread and please do not take anything I have said personal. Have a great night.

Looks like he is on the looseing side of football now. I don't think he will be a big threat Saturday night.

Of the problems detrimental to our society, athletes signing with another team once their original team no longer wants them ranks... nowhere.

Deion made $50+ million in his NFL career and won 2 Super Bowl he is doing it because he is a selfish egotistical traitor. My point of view is not ridiculous, this move shows that what this organization gave Branch was not enough and he is willing to hurt the franchise who gave him everything else he has achieved in the NFL simply to gain something that he already has. He is going to stand in front of younger more deserving players that he went to war with and spill their practice field secrets for the opportunity to play 1 game and earn at best $25-$30 grand.

It’s not about be a fan it’s about being a human being who doesn’t **** on the people and things that gave you an opportunity for your own selfish and unnecessary reasons.

50 mil? after taxes about 25mil. He probably wants to help out some family, give some to his kids and extend that money as long as he can, living 30-60 more years.

NFL players need to take the money while they're young, it's that simple, every dollar counts even 25-50 thousand. Tell anyone that has millions that 25-50 thousand dollars is peanuts and see how they react.

I don't get your logic. You're pilot? Ok lets say you had a long and enjoyable career with Southwest Airlines until they lay you off or replace you with another pilot. Jet Blue unexpectedly offers you a job as you're on the couch and not making what you once did in salary.

Do you turn down the JetBlue job as a sign of loyalty and thanks to Southwest?

Sounds silly and illogical, right?

Exactly.

What. Did he say something negative about our murderer?

No, he said positive things about our resident murderer... If I remember correctly, he said Aaron was "my guy",a great kid,a great friend, great team-mate & he hoped the "situation" had nothing to do with Aaron...the great, lovable, dear Aaron!!

Every job in life is a business Manx, let’s not act like the NFL is any different, soldiers are paid to do their jobs, cops are paid to stop criminals, etc. should the soldiers start working for other countries when their term is up, should the police start helping the criminals when they’re no longer needed? It is just business right?

I know I am exaggerating but the point is valid, many people who are doing things for financial gains are met with options to either be loyal to those who have done right by them or to turn on those people in order to benefit their own needs.
Both cops and prosecutors go on to become P.I.'s & Defense attorneys.

You need to simmer down.

I want an exact "secret" D.B. might reveal, you got one ?

I am sure the Colts don't want a vet WR who has "been there" helping out Luck in a critical game with Reggie out.
