Is there a way to reduce IR, etc. injuries?

Perhaps the answer lies in here...

I have a 2 step plan that would greatly reduce both head and knee injuries.

1) No more hard helmets. Players think they are battering rams and act accordingly.

2) Make it illegal to launch a shoulder tackle with your arms by your side. If you launch yourself you should have your arms reaching out to assist in the takedown. This would have eliminated the Gronk injury. With your arms extended you can properly tackle not just blindly bang into someone.

I've heard Deion Sanders said recently when referring to Cowboys injuries that nobody has more injuries than Bengals (no excuse for Cowboys). He's repeated that twice. I have also heard on NFL.COM when they were talking about Eagles that different approach by Chip Kelly reduced inuries on their team, and that Phill has the least injuries in the NFL beacause they were not stopping in the training camp. High tempo all the time and now they are fresh and healthy. Maybe BB should contact Chip for some tips? :)

Hey OP, to this minute the heavy majority outside NE believe several teams had not only more injuries but by a landslide.

teams like

GB
PHI
DEN
IND
CIN
KC

maybe more, just from the playoffs. Nobody even acknowledges NE injuries past Gronk and the occasional Wilfork mention. I don't have the numbers so I ignore them, anyone have the numbers?

Posted a jpg of the pre-DENVER Game snapshot of the NFL.com injury list (with select addition [1 incarcerated counted as same as injury]) in an argument thread w/ the Donkeys.

NE was by no means the worst (although pretty close), by my count we had 10 permanent lost for the season (counting AH) - worst case teams were 14 best case 1.

For the other guy who mentioned ESPN mediots: At that time Cincy was right behind NE - both at 9 with actual IR-PUP-NFI totals. We have since IR'd Boyce. Don't think Cincy has IR'd anyone since then. But look at their temporary outs (they had 0 out that week and Pats had 2 out) and then our walking wounded 'injury list' w/ Dobson, McC, Talib, Mankins etc. and I think cincy is no where close.

How about this:

No player may use his head or shoulder to strike any player at or below the knees.

Would it change or eliminate some aspects of the game? Yes. Would we still watch? Of course. Would it increase player safety? Absolutely.

CSN Philly recently mentioned that the Eagles were as healthy at this time of year as
they've ever been, and the main reason for that is Chip Kelly's Sports Science training.
What that is exactly I don't know, but Bill needs to get on the horn to Chip ASAP.
And firing Tom Gill would also help...as would not signing guys like Amendola.

Amendola has played 2 full seasons. Same with gronk. Finally Edelman played a healthy one. Give them a chance geesh
