Manning is gonna be pissed if the NFL takes away this record from him, I am pretty sure he would trade away this years SB for this one record :D

what record?

It's more likely that they will give him another 10 extra yards for an illegal motion, defense #95 did scratch his balls out of the pocket

Seems pretty clear from the stills that the ball was not a forward pass. However, there is no way in hell that the NFL would ever take away this record from Manning. Let him have his records, will make his inevitable gage job in the post season even more enjoyable.

Guess I don't know how much he broke the record by. Would removing the yards from that play make a difference?

Peyton's fragile ego is more important than game integrity.

The record will stand

Asterisk*

He broke it by one yard.

I doubt they'd take away his record but that is not a forward pass.

Didn't Gronk lose a receiving TD a couple of years ago because of a similar play?

Yes. I think it was against WAS if I recall correctly.

EDIT: It was against IND.

Yes, he broke the yardage record by ONE yard. You know there is no way in hell that they would take that away from Peyton Manning.

The NFL already said that one of his TDs last week should not have been a TD. They didn't take it away. So they are not going to take away his record now.

The NFL said that or Wade Phillips said it?

I get more Manning news here at patsfans than I get anywhere else! Keep up the good work!

Someone here should try real hard to forward this to the league in hopes they'd take it away

They wont take the record away as then they not only have to content with Peyton but Archie too. His dad whines as much as he does. It is so obvious to anyone that Manning loves these individual records. When the team is up by a bunch and they are at near the 5 yard line, Manning is throwing TD;s all over the place. You never see him handing the ball off even though they have a good running back. Yesterday as soon as he hit the supposed passing yardage they yanked him from the game. He had to play till that was hit. He will have a huge meltdown if this is taken away from him !!

lol, don't care. let him have the records. I just want us to humiliate him in the playoffs. love seeing the 'Peyton face'!
