3rd Most Unstable and Saddest Fan Base

Here in the Nanny state of Massachusetts where a majority of the population sprinkles ADD coping medicines on their glutton free granola cereal, I can understand how an Adderall/alcohol combination can elicit bipolar reactions...especially when the conspiracy between the refs, Goodell, and Putin is so blatantly obvious. Every year during the draft, I have to be placed in a padded room with no shoelaces and belt during the inevitable disastrous second round of Patriots drafting. And then there are those black helicopters that keep following me. Therapy has helped but I still can't come to grips why there is a gaping hole without seats behind the end zone at Gillette. Ahhhhhhhh......Ahhhhhhhhh....Waaaaaahhhh

I'm sad yet stable.

I got drunk the other night and woke up in a stable...jeezus

The Jets cope better? Like they've had so much positive to fall back on?

Yeah, I'll buy that.

I wonder how much of this study relies on reactions following SB 42. That probably tipped the scales a bit.

Maybe, but a visit to the Game Thread on this board (I avoid it myself) during any game where the Pats fall behind or make a few bad plays (let alone lose the game) would confirm the study's conclusion.

I'm not sure it's all bad, but our fans are passionate, generally (emphasis on "generally" well-informed) and don't "cope" very well with team adversity, unlike the Jests' fans who would think they had died and gone to heaven on our fans' worst days!

To be fair, if they're basing it on tweets, then I don't really care what the result is. They're only measuring people who tweet, after all.

Once again:

Parents of high achievers = tough love

Parents of low achievers = "my kid is fine and deserves a trophy for participating!"

If the "geniuses" who put out this report don't understand the analogy, they are simply writing useless drivel.

Jeezus? In a stable?? Jeezus, Mary, & Joseph!!!

your post is absolutely absurd....you must live in the city..or the back seat of a Geo...:pound:

hope this guy didn't get paid for this

I get my foam finger at K Mart at K Mart
Bobby Kraft cracked a funny
Uh Oh, fifteen minutes to Felger
Uh Oh, three minutes to Felger

To be fair, The Patriot have probably gained quite a number of "fans" since 2001 and those fans haven't had too many losses to develop their proper coping skills. Now those of us who have been around before Kraft owned the team, are well equipped to deal with those feelings (well most of us).

Yeah, it makes it easier to cope with that roller coaster of constantly successful, mostly 10 plus win, seasons.

Generalization...

Old Pats fan. After 30 years of cars that break down at the worst time, just happy to get a new reliable one every few years.

Newer fan. Daddy gets him a new Mustang every year. A red Mustang? You know I wanted blue!! Waaahhhhh!!

um were just happy because we win at all, lol. We we're a dismal failure for so long, games just became family events, and the boys became family. We expect to lose. I dont think we take the embarassment or losing as bad as others.
Never really sticks.
To be fare, I dont think this has anything to do with football. Strangly, Louisina has won happiest state a number of times, above Hawaii. So, its a culture thing.
I think if our boys pulled off 3 SB's we would be more needy, have higher expectations, and maybe be more miserable with each loss. I can see that.
Expactations are high, but never that high in NO. Media talks, but I dont know anyone that exspects a dynasty thing. We are pretty happy with the 1, and 2 would be pretty cool.
So, not a really fair comparison.
Accually I remmber other fans berating us for planning parades for the guys even if they lost the SB. I really dont understand that. I mean, their 2nd place and deserve to be acknowledged for that. Seems kind of petty to make them feel even worse for losing.
This 1st place or your nothing junk in America is pretty silly.

chargers fan base should get some say here...constant blackouts even when this team has 12-14 wins

Didn't youse guys invent the bag-over-the-head thing?

Re: 3rd Most Unstable and Saddest Fan Base.

I would say its accurate

It should be mandatory for any Jet fan walking into their stadium on game day to wear a bag over their head.
