Monday Night Football: New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks - preview and pick

Re: Monday Night Football: New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks - preview and predi

San Francisco can beat them. Detroit has the talent to beat them, though probably not the temperment. New Orleans will be more used to the stadium and would have a better chance, as well.
San Fran is debatable in San Fran. They've got no shot in Seattle. Their recent history attests to that. Kaepernick and the 49ers offense has been dominated by the Seahawks defense in last two matchups.

Detroit is not on the Seahawks' level. Their defense stinks in the back-end and their offense while explosive, isn't disciplined enough in their run game or protecting the football to be a true threat in the NFC.

Carolina has the best shot to be frank. Their defense is capable of containing Wilson. They're one of the few in the NFC that can. In addition to the Rams' defense.

Re: Monday Night Football: New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks - preview and predi

Why do the Saints keep trying to force these passes that are high and ahead of the receivers? You have to throw low, inside and outside too. The passes are too predicable. It's like Rex Grossman chucking right now.
Brees is choking

Brees is off by about a foot tonight, IMO, and it's made a big difference because the windows have been small and he's missed them.

It just seems like the play calling is trying to get a big play to swing the momentum when that isn't close to enough. He's done well, but the routes and the throws have to change up some or the Seahawks will sit on the speedy over the top stuff.

@ Seattle is just a near impossible matchup. Brees will outduel Newton, get the #2 seed, and have a chance at revenge in the NFCCG. All will be well in Saints land. :)

Brees has looked terrible tonight. He's been inaccurate and ansy in the pocket.

His linemen aren't doing him any favors (e.g. pressure on a 3 man-rush), but he hasn't done well by any stretch of the imagination.

Good thing is we know CAR very well so they probably will not beat us and have to face SEA.
But I would rather we get another shot at these guys.

Re: Monday Night Football: New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks - preview and predi

They finally had the Johnny Football segment. I was waiting for that all night.

He's certainly got worse over the course of the game. When the Saints were down, but still in it, all the passes were jump ballish, which isn't going to work on this secondary. I took it they were placed that way on purpose. If not, the Saints should have a better shot the next time with a better passing game.

Its Brees, he hates to lose and is forcing things. It happened in the 2006 Bears game, and the 2008 vs colts.

Monday Night Football: New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks - preview and p...

Since then our offense has gotten slightly worse and their D has improved. Also worth noting we kept stalling in the red zone.

I think it comes down to whether or not we can run on them... which I'm not very optimistic about.

I wouldn't say our offense has gotten worse. Edelman is having welker numbers. If amendola can keep improving that groin, he will be fine IMO. Dobson was just starting to break out. KT is a much quicker x receiver that can't stretch the field as well but can work the middle. Gronk is a beast and vereen. I am confident Ridley will start getting ball control under control. I am very optimistic about this offense. I think Brady could very well shred the Seattle D. He has playmakers at every position.

I just have a feeling this team is gonna peak at the right time at the end of the season or in the playoffs. I believe the pats will be on fire come January. Just can't bet against this team. But that's me, a homer lol

Im kind of hoping we dont get #2 seed. Our D just falls apart outside. Rarely both. We need more experience outside. We can beat CAR, maybe CAR will take out SEA. I really hope not. We need to beat this team.

Re: Monday Night Football: New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks - preview and predi

Say what you want about the pats players, schedule whatever...they have at least not been blown out yet in any of their losses.

Re: Monday Night Football: New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks - preview and predi

How does a historical mediocrity like Pete Carroll get to this position? In a word....

Talent

That team is loaded

Re: Monday Night Football: New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks - preview and predi

I still don't think Seattle is going to the SB.

One of the conferences will not have the favorites in the SB I predict. So either pats/broncos or seattle/no will not make the SB.

yep, its the worst game ive seen in 7 years. We have beaten better D's on offense. Just a very embarressing game on both sides of the ball.

But you have been there before, Lions 40, Patriots 9. Lions didnt win the SB.
I really dont think panic is in order, just yet. But, it is the worst game I have ever seen sense 2006. We couldnt do anything. We need to beat this team.

I mean, that was a preseason game with vanilla play calling.

One , its was a preseason game.Another, getting blown out like this this late in the season cant be be good. Sure, things kinda went seattle's way but this could also be the pats/houston MNF game from last yr .Pats didnt make it to the SB but houston didnt finish the season on a good note last yr.
Hopefully payton will get things right but Iam not sold on the defense. Its a little overhyped.

I know, but 40 ? vanilla both sides
