I don't think there will be a ton of disagreement at most spots, but here is my Patriots "all time" team, from just the BB years. I am doing this off the cuff, so I will make changes if anyone points out playersI overlooked.
The standard is the player at his peak, for example if we were considering Ridley, it would be based upon the 2012 season only, and his fumbling this season would be irrelevant.

QB- G.O.A.T.
RB- Dillon
FB- Marc Edwards
3rd down RB- Faulk
TE- Gronk
WR- Moss
WR- Welker
WR- Brown
LT- Light
LG- Mankins
C- Koppen
RG- Woody
RT- Vollmer

On defense I will segregate 43 and 34

43 DE Jones, Carter
43 DT Wilfork, Seymour
34 DE Seymour, Warren
34 NT Wilfork
OLB Vrabel
OLB McGinest
ILB Mayo
ILB Bruschi
CB Law
CB McCourty in his rookie year edges out Samuel
S Harrison
S Milloy

K Vinaiteri
P Mesko (probably the hardest pick)

PR Edelman
KR Bethel Johnson

I would venture that you could not find any team whose 'best of' during that time frame could come close.

WR#3 - I think you could put Aaron Hernandez there instead of Branch.
CB - I put Asante ahead McCourty
S - not sure if Milloy makes that list, McCourty could replace him.

You should add KR and PR
PR - Edelman
KR - tough one, not sure

OK, we are both wrong about WR3. TROY BROWN

PR- Edelman
KR- Bethel Johnson

also 3rd down RB Faulk

What about talib and law at cb? Need Troy brown and Edelman (PR) in there. Maybe McCourty at FS in there also.

I have Law at corner.
Talib is a good debate, but he has missed too many games IMO.

I assuming given a few of these choice you're doing at their peak and not total contribution given Branch over Brown, McCourty over Samuel (although I would give both to Samuel) and Dillon over say Faulk who contributed a lot more over the years but never a season like 2004.

-Yes at peak
-I brainfarted on Brown and have since corrected
-I chose McCourty of 2010 over the best of Samuel, and stand by it.
-I added 3rd down back for Faulk

How about Ted "Mount" Washington instead of Big Vince. Vince has been great, but for those 10 games in a Pats uniform, Two-Down Ted was the immovable force.
A whiff of greatness vs a career of very good
If the standard is..."At his Peak".....TW was the epitome of 3-4 NT.......and TW was BB's Moby ****.....fleeting as it was.

Washington was not at or near his own peak when he was here.
Vince has had many seasons better than Washingtons 2003 IMO.

2010 McCorty vs Samuel in 06 or 07 (minus the gag drop vs Eli) are pretty debatable and given how close I'd give Assante the nod.

Agreed on removing Branch for Brown but tough nonetheless given Branch's two SB performances. I'd also add Brown for PR and as a special teams specialist it would be tight between Brown, Izzo and Slater. Brown's special teams play against the Steelers in the 01 AFCCG is epic.

McCourty gets my nod for a few reasons. Team player. Played the run. Tackled.

I would have Samuel over McCourty at CB.

I would also give serious thoughts of Eugene Wilson over Lawyer Milloy if you are just talking BB years. Wilson was damn good in 03-04 seasons.

OLB Vrabel
OLB McGinest

Of course this is a no brainer on the all BB team but on the 50th aniversary team Tippet is a no brainer and Vrabel got the nod over Willie. That's such a tough choice.

I would go with Ted Johnson as the best run stopping ILB and Roman Phifer as the best coverage ILB. Mayo would be Bruschi's backup.

Very cool idea AJ…

QB – Brady
RB – Dillon
3rd Down RB – Faulk
X WR – Moss
Y WR – Branch (I picked him because I feel he fits the Y position better than Brown)
Z WR – Welker
TE – Gronkowski
LT – Solder
LG – Mankins
OC – Koppen
RG – Waters
RT – Vollmer
Backup OT – Light
Backup OL - Connolly

LDE – McGinest
DT – Wilfork
DT – Seymour
RDE – Jones
Pass Rusher – Carter
Backup DT - Warren
SAM – Vrabel
MLB – Seau
WILL – Mayo
Coverage LB – Bruschi
LCB – Law
RCB – Talib
Slot CB – Dennard
FS – McCourty
SS – Milloy
Hybrid LB/SS – Harrison

K – Vinaiteri
P – Mesko
KR – Johnson
PR – Edelman

To be fair I would include Hernandez as my TE/FB if not for his stupidity, on the field though he is one of the better players of the BB era.

What does "missed too many games" have to do with.... "the standard is the player at his peak".
Are you saying McCourty was playing better CB his rookie season than Talib is now?

I'm looking at it as a season.
