Plus 5) He gets his choice of babes at the party.

From the pictures that I have seen, he is doing fine with the one he married.

GUESS YA CANT BLAME THE KID FOR BAAAAAD TASTE. SHE WILL OUT GROW IT:singing:

In fairness to Peyton, how do we know this wasn't a close family obligation?

I'm sure it's no different from the speech tours he does. I'm sure he gets paid for those appearances as well.

Do you think you could get any celebrity on earth to give a speech or show up at your party for free?

And Peyton does give tons to charity in Indianapolis, New Orleans and Tennesse, and has been recognized for such.

get off peyton's nutsack you degenerate.

He went to a girl's bday party but it costed them 200K. He's no saint. I woulda done it for 20 bucks, you don't hear people defending me on the internet.

So he made some little high school girls dream come true. Big deal

He made some spoiled little rich high school girl's dream come true. Actually, I have a feeling he made some spoil little rich high school girl's father's dream come true.

I am more disturbed that parents would spend $200k just to have a celebrity show up at their daughter's birthday party than Manning taking the cash to do the appearance. Come on! Even if I had the money and a 16 year old daughter, no way would I spend over $200k for a birthday party. I don't care how rich you are, no teenager should get a party worth that much. I would assume that if they paid $200k for Manning, the whole party might have cost around a half a million.

$200,000 - You could get front row, 50 yard line seats for life. Hell, you can go to training camp and hang out with Peyton for free.

I wonder if Peyton stood around at the food presentation and when the birthday girl went up to the table he yelled "Cut The Cake","Cut The Cake"

I wonder whether this is more about the parents' dream than the girl's dream.

Holy over-indulgence. I don't blame Peyton -- an easy payday is an easy payday. For all we know, he's giving some of the money to charity or something. But the girl's parents need some perspective.

$200000 for a cameo appearance at some girl's 16th birthday is a pretty sweet deal for Peyton. I could see him not taking it, but that's a worthwhile payday for anyone.

Boy, you guys love Manning on here! :) And from a real reputable source too!

Never made sense to me how people can so dislike a good player who is also a good guy considering all the scumbags that are in the sports world. The guy is competitive and wears his emotions on his sleeve on the field, and people take that the wrong way.

You guys do realize this is a satirical website don't you?

I'm not sure what the pictures are really from, and even if you are not familiar with the site, "deadspin.com" didn't tip you off?

Don't you think Marv Levy would be a bigger draw? And much cheaper, too.

Well, my secret plan has been foiled. I have already hired and paid the pie-makers. Something tells me my shop would have been destroyed if I instructed my employees to pie Marv Levy.

Then he shouldn't be doing it for 200K!

ROFL! Hey, I'd give him credit if he did that.

"Uncle Peyton, I'd like to personally invite you to my 16th birthday party."

"Let's see if I'm available that day, I may be hawking toasters. How much do you pay?"

Relax. we're having fun with it.

The saddest part of the story is that when the dad brought out the 200 grand to pay Peyton, it was in singles, in a hefty bag, and Pacman Jones jumped out of the cake and shot everyone

I never look at the links. I should have known better after the NFL Network reports Adalius Thomas has been franchised thread went for about 60 posts, when in fact, the NFL Network had reported he had NOT been franchised. :)

I guess you're just that much quicker than everybody else here at Patsfans.com.

Or, rather, you would be... if you were actually, you know, right about deadspin.

Sure, it's satirical in nature, and its journalistic standards are, well, non-existant... but it doesn't trade in fiction, allegory or parody. It provides a humorous, snarky take one sport news and gossip. I mean, look -- it's posted about the Borges scandal... does that mean that that was "satire" and didn't happen, too?
