And it appears Belichick and Brady were amused by the stature of the baseball players too.

They are fit to be HC and QB of the NEP, I hope.

Todd Dewey is trying to make a story out of it… Who Todd Dewey is I am not sure?:bricks:

Hazing in the NFL isn’t the exclusive domain of the Miami Dolphins. It’s also prevalent on the New England Patriots, with coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady two of the biggest bullies.

...

This is actually a pretty well regarded newspaper. In general. But what an absurd thing to write. Yeah, maybe they need to form a committee with Tony Dungy. Gack.

by the way .. here's a link to the actual Sound FX segment.

I think McDaniels is a dbag and don't particularly want him to succeed BB.

However, none of that is based on him meeting Dustin Pedroia and observing that he is about the size of your average sixth grader.

Dustin Pedroia is 5 ft 9 inches, not sure how that's your average 6th grader. Compared to most NFL players he's quite a bit smaller. However, your average NFL player is 6'2 with some shorter than that and some taller than that. For instance, there are some in the NFL who are around Dustin Pedroia's height. Russell Wilson is 5'10, Leon Washington is 5'8, Danny Woodhead 5'8, Wes Welker 5'9 and I am sure there are other in that size range. Then you have Colin kaepernick 6'4, Alex Smith 6'4, Tom Brady 6'4, Philip Rivers 6'5, Carson Palmer 6'5, Peyton Manning 6'5, Joe Flacco 6'6, Ryan Tanehill 6'4, Ei Manning 6'4,Jason Witten 6'5 etc. who are taller than your average NFL player.

Pedroia is as close to 5'9" as Allen Iverson is to 6'0"

And even though he's been a notable player for about 4 seasons now, I still laugh at how tiny Woodhead is every time I see him on the field.

Every story written after the micd up piece was released only talked about these conversations. No one mentioned anything else about what else BB said during that game.,Roethlisberger, pocket, encouraging ridley. Such is the nature of the news media now.

But the media strategy works. Look at this moronic thread.

You are nitpicking. I've never used, heard nor read the word employed with that meaning. Just in relation to a small(er) person, and usually with affection.
Affection? Look it up...

Perhaps where you live, the word "twerp" is used derisively. Like I said, I've never used it that way and DIDN'T use it with negative intent in what I wrote. So, you may now breathe a deep sigh of relief that no offense was intended.

I never thought any offense was intended.

There has been speculation in some quarters that McDaniels is a candidate to succeed BB if and when BB decides to hang it up, a kind of HC in waiting.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have been a persistent critic of McDaniels. I believe he has been outcoached consistently in big games since he became O-coordinator (12 men on field to start potential game winning drive in 4th q vs. Colts in AFCCG in 2006, vs Giants both times, etc.). We also seem to get worse offensively in the 2nd halves of playoff games.

Did anyone else watch the BB miked up segment vs the Steelers and find McDaniels' comments about the Red Sox being "small" to be immature? Why is it so interesting and relevant that baseball players are "small" compared to football players? They are clutch players who are champions, who played with heart and guts and came through when it mattered most. It seemed strange to me that McDaniels found Victorino's stature to be so noteworthy, enough to mock him to BB, especially since McDaniels is a small man himself.

I'm not sure McDaniels has the right personality to be HC of the NEP.

The comments were fine, and they offer no indication that McDaniels, or any other human being on the planet, would have a personality issue with regards to becoming an NFL head coach.

I also wonder if they were meaning small in terms of weight rather than height because in this article weight is mentioned. However, maybe they were referring to a mixture of both height and weight.

Y! SPORTS

There seems to be much more emphasis on weight than height to me. Was the word "short" even used?

As a funny aside, anyone notice at :44 in -- BB's on the sideline saying "Nice job" and holds out his hand for Amendola to give it five after his TD. Amendola totally blows by him, leaves him hanging. They hate their coach! ;)

Alrighty then

Can we stop bringing up baseball? I thought that was over with.

Please tell me that you are being sarcastic.

Whoa, someone doesn't like baseball or see its relevance to a football forum! Stop the presses! He must be sarcastic!
