How do we feel when Peyton throws 51 TDs?

it was Manning's three year old record that Brady broke so now 5 years later he can have it back... records are made to be broken a few years from now Andrew luck or some young QB will throw 60 TD's that wont mean that Manning and Brady is any less of QB they are still 1 and 2 in history

Manning is scheduled for an MRI on his knee today, so stay tuned.

Back to the topic at hand, do not care one way or another... records are made to be broken.

I don't care about anything that tarnishes the "accomplishments" of the 2007 season, as long as it is still the case that the 2007 Patriots were the best Super Bowl losing team in history.

I don't care about anything that establishes regular-season superiority for Manning over Brady.

I.e., I don't care.

I am just going to be sick with all the Manning ball washing going on by the media.

Here's Manning talking about the media after the Chargers game:

"Somebody was around my feet," Manning said. "I've got to see the play. I don't know who it was. But they were near my lower limbs."

I will still despise Manning, and still think Brady is the GOAT.

Although I must admit I enjoy TB's accomplishments. I wanted him to break Manning's record back in 2007 and I wanted him to break Bree's record a few weeks ago.

But I don't lose much sleep over it. As others have pointed out the rules have changed and records are going to fall like overripe fruit.

Also there are so many stupid " records" nowadays. Last night on Sunday night football they flashed a "record" on TV about Bree's throwing more tds (60) over any 20 consecutive home games than any other QB . Just cause some stat dweeb can run a computer program to track such statistics does not make it a "record".

Frankly, I don't give a crap anymore about individual records at this point. The only way Brady can end the whole debate between "who is better?" is to win a 4th SB. End of story.

I hope we hurt his chances when we play him this year.

I think part of the reason Marino or Manning or Brady got to 48, 49, or 50 TD's was a running game that was ineffective at getting in the endzone creating a lopsided offense. Might be part of the reason those teams never got SB wins.

Why don't we actually yeah know.... wait for him to do it first?

Through 8 games he was tied with Brady (2007) with 30.

Through today's game of 9, he is once again tied with Brady (2007) with 33.

My guess is that he'll definitely end up doing it if healthy, but that's 7 more games down the road. If it happens, it happens...

We were all so concerned with Brady's consecutive TD streak of 50+ games in terms of chasing Brees' record, and then pretty much forgot about it a week or two later.

I agree its not a lock to happen. The Kanas City Chiefs are allowing 12.3 points per game I really don’t foresee Manning having any 4 touchdown games against them most likely him coming out of both games against them with 4 total touchdowns will be a good outcome. I don’t think they’ll play Manning in week 17 against Oakland unless they have a chance at the division.

I won't really care. I think most people, true football fans, understand that it's about winning in the playoffs. What do most fans remember about the 2007 Patriots? That they lost to NYG in the SB, I'd say. If DEN fails in the playoffs again, that's what they'll be remembered for.

That TD stat has no meaning or any value.

Aaron Rodgers could've easily broken it in 2011 had he not sat that final game. He was at 45 at point and Flynn threw 6 of 'em. And yet the Packers went one and done while being embarrassed at home. It wouldn't have meant anything then, and it won't mean anything now if it happens.

That's the moral of story, stats don't mean **** without a ring to back it up.

Exactly... people tend to forget Aaron Rodgers 2011 campaign was arguably the greatest season ever for a QB... I had him on fantasy it was rediculous but nobody remembers that he threw 45 tds and only had 6 picks because of the one and done

To be fair, as of last week Moreno lead the NFL in rushing TDs too.

Even from my point of view I don't care at all. I mean obviously I'd like him to break the record, and I'd love for our offense to keep setting records and go down in history, but if anyone honestly thinks Manning, or even Broncos fans, will take solace in the fact that it was a "record setting offense" when you lose in the playoffs, then you need a history lesson.

Stats are cool and are a fun part of the game, but no one should ever play any game for statistics, you play a game to win. Can't be the best if you don't win.

To be doubly fair Game Play Finder & Super Bowl Play Finder - Pro-Football-Reference.com vs Game Play Finder & Super Bowl Play Finder - Pro-Football-Reference.com you'd be stupid not to pass it in goal to go situations or in the red zone Game Play Finder & Super Bowl Play Finder - Pro-Football-Reference.com vs Game Play Finder & Super Bowl Play Finder - Pro-Football-Reference.com

Passing results in more yards, fewer TOs, a higher rate of success, etc... It's not padding if it's the best choice available.

Ask me when he gets to 50.

There's no denying that he's having a great year. But he's getting hit more than ever, he hasn't thrown a spiral in three years and the cold wind hasn't started to really blow yet. As with the 2007 Patriots, the defenses will adjust and it will get harder for him.

It's he makes it, good for him. My money is still on him watching the AFC Championship game at home on TV like most every other year.

All that matters is whether he wins another ring.

Right now the score is 3--1 in terms of rings and 5--2 in terms of SB appearances, with a huge difference in post season performance. That will always be the bottom line to any story about the Brady-Manning era, through which we have all been fortunate enough to have lived...unless Peyton scores more bling.

That's not to say that breaking the single season TD pass record won't be significant, but Peyton already holds so many records that one more record will just be one more stat line without a ring.

I have said since September that I think he will fade as the season progresses. While it looks likely that Peyton will get the 18 more TD's he needs to top TB, I'm sticking with my view that he won't get the job done in the cold of January.

If Peyton does wind up having a season for the record books, Welker's chances for Canton start looking better.

I will probably be feeling like this:
