South Park - Tom Brady

I know Mormons and Scientologists don't like them. Those were a couple of their best episodes.

I can appreciate not agreeing with their heavy-handed politics. I can appreciate thinking that their show is all toilet humor (which is sometimes the case but just as often it isn't for mere shock value but used to make a point for better or worse) and I can appreciate that a lot of their episodes lately have relied too heavily on a single joke.

But to call them awful people based on that is asinine.

If Tom Brady is some sort of sacred cow to you to the point that you get angry about a cartoon making fun of him you have priority issues.

Meh, it's all in humor. Doesn't mean I agree with it though.

I didn't write anything like that so I have no idea where this is coming from. I love South Park enough to DVD it. I think it is even funny that they acknowledge they are Broncos fans when they did this. I was just responding about two groups that hate them, not that I do.

If you are replying to the other poster but quoted me then that's a mistake but no biggie

I didn't know South Park was still on the air? That show is so 1998.

My problem with South Park has less to do with who they make fun of, and more to do with the fact that the show should have ended a while ago instead of continuing and declining to the point that I lost interest.

Someone once told me to watch South Park, it's funny. I watched a part of one episode. It wasn't funny. Not even a little bit.

Tosh.O is far superior.

Did you watch the whole episode? It was a pretty relevant criticism of Obamacare, particularly the rollout. The Brady joke was just a side shot, and they acknowledged their Broncos bias directly after it.

"Did I watch the whole episode?" No...

I used to watch it when it was relevant and funny back in the late '90s, but I'm 38 yrs old now, so I personally don't have the same mindset to watch a played out fad of a show like that anymore. To be honest, I actually don't even know anyone who's even mentioned the show "South Park" in the past 10 years or so. I'm sure there were times when I'd get stoned in my early 20's and watch it, but those days have long passed.

If the show were really about Obamacare and its failures with the initial phases, then it would seem to be kind of strange and irrelevant to include something about Tom Brady taking laxatives and crapping himself on the field, but that's just my opinion.

For all I know these storylines may have flowed together perfectly like an Academy award winning movie written by Martin Scorsese, so your point is well taken. I have no problem whatsoever with a good natured joke about anything Patriots related, I just thought it was kind of a strange and irrelevant topic, that's all.

Absolutely. I saw an interview once with those 2 guys and they seem to be pretty nice people. No one should make broad generalizations about people being "awful" based on much of anything, unless there are multiple, proven examples of said acts.

I think any sacred cow feelings about Brady went out the window when I received my copy of GQ in the mail and they had him pose with lambs, goats, and....actual cows. Or maybe this week when I saw him dressed up in a freaking cowardly lion costume

The only thing that bothers me is the thought that DEN built a better group of weapons around their future HOF QB this year, and that we may actually lose one or more games to them this season. Aside from that, I couldn't care less about what anyone says about Brady. I live in Pittsburgh, so I'm practically numb to any and all Tom Brady jokes at this point.

They finish the show right before it is aired. I just noticed it has the Patriots playing the Steelers
Yeah, it's pretty amazing actually. I read a piece in a magazine about them a few years ago. It takes ~less than a week to make an episode and they are still working on it the day it goes to air.

I'm sorry, but that's funny.

I'm pretty sure Tom Brady would laugh at that too. Everyone gets so easily offended these days.

Not that I'm offended by this skit at all, but...

people still watch South Park?

Out of all the sick, depraved, and downright weird things that humans do, you wonder if watching a TV show on a major cable network is one of them?

I say something in response.
You respond to me.
I respond to you but my comments are still on the topic of responding the first poster since I thought that's what we were talking about.

I'm SO confused

I have to agree with the previous poster......people still watch South Park? I guess if you find 5th grade potty humor funny........but those guys are far from comic genius, IMHO. Now the JibJab guys are seriously funny and IMHO comic geniuses. Again, to each their own and comedy is subjective.

What I took from this video:

Our O-line drastically improves to the point where Tom Brady can take a massive number two and still not get sacked. I needed somethin to make me feel better after losin Vollmer.

You don't say?

One would have never guessed

(I'm just messing around--nothing wrong with SP, just surprised it still has that much of a following still)

I hear you, fnordcircle--and I actually agree with you.

It's just that when you start off talking about Obamacare and its failures, then somehow end up with a football player crapping his pants, one tends to wonder if you'd really have to watch it to determine that it sounds kind of mis-matched.

I'm actually going to check it out this weekend if I can find it though. Now I am intrigued :)

After watching the clip, I'm not exactly sure how this equates to "genius" or even funny for that matter.
