It's Official: Big Bang Clock is NFL's Dumbest Football Player

That is fine, but I think you are assuming a knowldege of Meriwhether that you don't have to reach your conclusion. Doesn't mean you are wrong, just that your entire argument is based upon guessing you know the intentions of someone you have never met because you think they are stupid or ignorant with no first hand knowledge.

Actually it is based off of watching his hit on Todd Heap, the two head shots a couple of weeks ago, and his latest comments, which tell all tell me he simply doesn't get it.

Somewhat OT but did you by any chance happen to see the hit by John Scott on a Louis Erickson in Buffalo last week? If so are you limiting your opinion just to football or do you think it is true for all sports?

Again, that is fine, but a history of hitting high on receivers to spearate the ball just doesn't add up to enough fro me to conclude a player is stupid, or will try to end a players career. Ronnie Lott was a pretty smart football player.

I didn't, and I think in all contact sports players use contact to succeed not to injure. I am sure there have been cases or purposeful retaliation and so forth, but generally players are not intentionally trying ot injure others, especially severely.
Many NFL players have said they want to hit the QB so hard he leaves the game, but would not want to end his career, and an injury is a result of delievering a hard hit, not the reason for it.

In the first example he clearly leads with his shoulder, and is using the sideline as part of the tackle.
In the other 2 he is not trying to tackle as much as trying to separate the ball from the player. Safeties are trained to use a hit to separate the receivwer from the ball, not to let them catch it and make a pretty tackle.
Nate Ebner is your example of what a football player should be? Really?

No, he leads with his head in the first and hits the other helmet with the crown of his. Stomper doesn't even attempt to tackle, he just launches his body, he's a pitiful tackler who should spend more time learning how to tackle instead of complaining about rules that plenty of other players seem to do just fine with.

Not sure how to discuss this with you if you cant see he turns in and delivers the blow with his shoulder. I guess you are pretending you see what you want to see.

Ronnie Lott played at a time when the NFL was actively suppressing head injury studies.

If you're going to use anachronisms, why don't you just use Jack Tatum as an example?

The first one, no way - - he LOWERS his head and leads with it. Anyone with eyes can see that. The only thing that gets him off the hook there is that Starks lowered his head slightly, so it is arguable.

And the second two videos? No....Andy....no.

And that is without even the Todd Heap video.

Here ya go - - you can see Spikes and Ninko throwing up their arms in disgust at him even BEFORE the flag is thrown :

Umm that was in response to the flag.
I'm sorry but DBs are taught to separate the receiver from the ball as well as to intimidate players coming over the middle.
What the nfl does about concussion research isn't affecting that decision by a player.
It's still football.

Then someone should tell Meriweather that receivers don't carry the ball with their heads anymore, and maybe he should aim for the body on occasion.

I can't believe anyone is actively defending this turd and portraying him as a clean player.

I wonder if anyone on the Redskins offense (namely RG3) might tell him to STFU. He is putting a bullseye on his teammates.

RG3 telling someone else to be quiet would be something to behold given his need to be in the media spotlight.

Meriweather is an idiot. There is no excuse to go for a player's knees. Hell, 99% of the NFL doesn't even know how to tackle. The issues would decrease dramatically if players actually tackled rather than launched at each other with their helmets.

Darren Woodson just echoed my opinion almost word for word on mike and mike.

Oh, well, if a defensive back turned ESPN analyst agrees, then you must be correct.

Edited to add: If you're making the argument that headhunting is okay because they're trying to separate the player from the ball, say that. Otherwise, I have no stinking clue what your argument is.

Then you should read my post before responding to it.
DBs have been trained for years to separate the receiver from the ball. As Woodson said the ball comes in high, so you hit high to spearate the ball.

The argument was that Meriwhether is trying to injure people on purpose and the hits are proof that he really intends to end players careers by taking their knees because the league won't allow him to concuss them.My argument is that argument is stupid.

If you seriously think that you understand how a S is taught to play better than Darren Woodson, please just go away.

That WOULD be the goal, instead of Andy telling everyone that it can't be done.

" As Woodson said the ball comes in high, so you hit high to spearate the ball.'

....by leaving your feet and launching yourself head-first???????

At this point, you are simply joking.

You do realize that for his entire life playing football he has been trained to deliver the hardest hit he can to the receiver in order to separate the ball right?

You will have to show me where I said that.

 I had no idea that the ball always comes in at head level, especially after it's already been caught and secured.

We knew that BM had no regard whatsoever for player safety when he was a Patriot, and that was before the penalties, first-ever suspension for the hits, and his implication that he's going to target knees.

You can argue all you want that he doesn't want to end careers (true, because no one but him knows), but he flat-out states that he's got no choice but to go after knees, and that's why he's a goddamn idiot. You're making excuses for him being a dirty player.

It's amazing how someone who plays as hard as Troy Polamalu isn't known for targeting the head, and yet BM has gotten pinched 3 times in the last 1 and 1/2 seasons, and was the first player to ever be suspended because of it.

Hit high = good. Hit head = bad. Hit knees because you can't hit head = Brandon Meriweather logic.
