Jerry Jones said on his radio show this morning that G Brian Waters is out for the season, per @nickeatman.

This probably signals the end of his career. Best wishes to Mr. Waters in his post-football ventures.

Definitely sad to see this.

Mixed feelings about how he left NE, but you never like to see a player leave the career involuntarily.

Best wishes to Brian Waters.

Anyone heard what kind of injury ?

Am I the only one who thought he'd retired?

He played flawlessly at RG on the Patriots last trip to the Super Bowl. You'd think that would be enough to bring him back and go for another try--since he played on a loser his entire NFL career prior to that.

Can he rush the passer?

Waters and Suh had some epic although short lived battles. Waters left in the 2nd qtr not to return. Godzilla vs King Kong while it lasted.

Waters is now on IR with a broken rib, a knee injury and a torn triceps muscle. "I had an MRI on every part of my body" Waters said. "I barely got out of Detroit alive."

He was great when he played here. Stepped in on short time and started the whole way through at an all-pro level. Too bad it ended how it did but best wishes to him post-NFL.

you mean the guy who instead of reporting for the pats sat home, and waited a year before the pats finally caved and cut him so he could sign with a team in texas?

Dudes never coming back.

Sucks to see him injured but I don't like the guy. Couldn't even honor his contract here.

I was obviously referring to what happened 18 months ago.

Loved him for the year he was here. didn't like him at all for the year he held out. Best of luck to him in his post-football career.

By all metrics he was having a pretty good season this year. It's unfortunate for him, and the Cowboys because he was their best O-Linemen this season.

Too bad. Gone almost before he returned to NFL action. Wish he had the desire to stay in NE. Seemed like it was too far from his family for not enough $$ at the time. Wishing him quick healing!

Where have you been?

It wasn't the Patriots' decision.

Exactly. 'Not bringing him back in' wasn't the Pats' decision. He hated living in NE and was prepared to leave the NFL over that. Nothing the Pats could do except move to Texas.

As far as I'm concerned, he's been out for a couple of seasons.

Sucks for him personally and Dallas will obviously feel the impact.

I wonder if the odds of him making it through the season without injury were greatly reduced by not even being on any roster last year. It can't' be good for your body to miss an entire year and not be working out and at least getting practice time in and then try and withstand the rigors of contact in NFL games.

Yeah this pretty much sums up how I feel about the situation. Best luck to him and his family.
