Jets rookie Sheldon Richardson: Brady is the opposite of Superman

I doubt it's about not knowing, but most reporters are more likely to report a player attacking someone, rather than themselves attacking someone.

Much better story reporting someone else doing it than doing it yourself.

The NESN reporter said that Richardson was absolutely correct, the rule was changed after Brady was injured.

Richardson is from St Louis, so Brady probably made him cry when he was a kid, that's why he hates him so much :D

Sorry, The NESN reporter should be reporting wrestling in the WWF or whatever they call it.

Carson Palmer was injured in the PO game against Pittsburgh on Jan 6, 2006.

Here is the rule change enacted later that spring.

2006

Low hits on the quarterback are prohibited when a rushing defender has an opportunity to avoid such contact.

Then lol. That's just sad.

Edit: Actually, you're only part right. He doesn't say the rule was changed because of Brady, the quote was:

He’s exactly right, and the NFL did in part make the rule because it didn’t want marquee passers like Brady going down by out-of-position players grabbing at their legs. But it’s that whole tuck rule thing that immediately detracts credibility from Richardson. The tuck rule was already in place when it was famously used to extend a Patriots drive in 2001, and Brady — a rookie — had nothing to do with its formation or implementation.

He says it was changed because it didn't want passers LIKE Brady going down. But then he also says Brady was a rookie in 2001, this is just a horribly written article overall.

The rule was already in existence. What changed was that they added the leap from the ground to it in one of the 'clarifications'. Sheldor the magnificent should probably bone up on his NFL history, seeing as he plays in the league and all.

In part because of the season-ending left knee injury that Brady suffered in the Patriots' 2008 season opener against the Chiefs, the league's Competition Committee adopted a clarification of the current rule on hits to a quarterback in the knee area or below. The clarification specifically prohibits a defender on the ground who hasn't been blocked or fouled directly into the quarterback from lunging or diving at the quarterback's lower legs.

Well, when Richardson claims they changed the rule for Brady, and the reporter says Richardson is exactly right, I'm going to think the reporter is an idiot.

I mean, it goes without saying that the rule against hurting a QB low is there to protect QBs. Why else would it be there. So, is Richardson right that the rule was instituted because of Brady? Or was Richardson saying the rule protects QBs? (Which is a really bizarre point to make).

NESN.

'Nuf ced.

Brady is playing like s h I t so far...he is hit or miss and mostly it's miss.

Hey, so far, the rookie's gotten it right about Brady.... although how much of that is him or the shaken confidence he has in that o-line, I don't know.

another nice game for Sheldon..the race for DROY with Kiko should be a good one

We probably should have won this week. We probably should have lost last week. These things have a way of evening out.

That being said, Sheldon Richardson is probably right. Brady's TD pass last week doesn't negate the fact that I think we're near the end of TFB's career. We still get flashes of his greatness, but they are getting further and further apart. Yes there were some drops, but there were some pretty awful throws also. It's a shame.
