How many other field goal attempts this year had that call -PUSHING-made?

I think that ref is a "friend" of the NYJets

Did you see him confront BB?

He looks like the squarehead meatball -BB should have ended his career right then by smacking the crooked penguin with a helmet.

smack

I also hope the broncos lose tonight (not that I like indy)
congrats to buffalo 2 for knocking MIA down a notch

think ill sleep until the next game....how depressing to see NYJets and fat rex fist pumping...what a robbery:cool:

I feel the same way about the speed limit being 55mph on the highway, but its still the rule.......

If the push has an effect on the play call it. That had zero effect on the kick. What a joke. Let's decide a hard fought game in overtime on a call like that. Ridiculous.

It sucks that we lost because of this rule. Win or lose though, I just don't see how this rule is going to be called consistently. That said, I think we can blame our team for not doing better at the things they can control.

How many tuck rule penalties do you remember?

No...it's 65 where I am and actually posted @ 75MPH on I80 Wyoming....
etc

the ref dug deep for that one...it was like a speed trap

It was the wrong interpretation of the rule anyway. Jones was not a second level player so there is no rule against him pushing a teammate anyway.

There are many professionals in the league that hate our franchise

Using your logic, the ref's should call offensive holding on every play because that's the rule too. They don't because they use judgement when it doesn't affect the play. Does anybody think that that kick would have been good without the push. More importantly does anybody think the Pats get that call on the Jets.

Yep. Belichick knew the rule, you could hear him yelling at the ref "he was still on the line"

I hear you my man, sucks to because Chris Jones has really been impressive and instead people are going to focus on that. It was a **** call no doubt about it, but we're 5-2 with 2 very winable games prior to the bye. Hopefully post bye week we have all are key guys like Talib, Kelly, Amendola and Vereen back along with some contributions from Armstead and maybe even the incredibly talented Mark Harrison.

Not really. If the flow of traffic is 75 mph you can get get ticketed for impedding traffic even though you are obeying that you think is 'the rule'. ( I know a woman in Texas that this happened to.)

You can also get ticketed for going 45 in a 55 if the cop thinks the conditions warrant a reduced speed ( like a Blizzard).

according to Mike Peirera, it was called on average about 15-20 times per season for over a decade, so I'll guess... 180?

It is what it is, its in the rule book so if they want to enforce it they can, my thought is they could have called a penalty on Jones for rolling into Geno for a sack earlier in the game so maybe they thought that even it out, if so sort of ****ty logic on their part but honestly we got outplayed today and that call didn't mean we would have won it just meant we got the ball back, the way we were playing offense I don't know if it would have mattered today.

3 that year (2001), 1 the year before ( that was when I first heard of it)

Its the timing that was bogus. There were four other field goals in that game hard to believe there were no other pushes on any of those others.

Here is why the call was bogus: it was a line stunt. Jones looped around to his right to hit the A-gap and had incidental contact with his line mate. It was not an attempt to push his teammate into the offensive formation. The call NEVER should have been made.

I'm frustrated as **** too over it but if there's one silver lining here - it didn't happen in a playoff game. Now we'll be alot more careful with that stuff and not give the ref a chance to **** us over.
