He had an ad ready to go for when he was cleared to play?? Was Andrews waiting to clear him until post production was done??
I'm so glad he's back, but between partying in casts and having a video ready to drop for when he gets cleared to play, I wish to God he had an agent other than Rosenhaus telling him not to do things that make him seem ****ish.
yeah, not sure what to make of it but as tom curran pointed of a week ago, for someone who is injured he has marketed himself well being everywhere else but the game. Releasing this video minutes after getting cleared looks kind of stupid.
Unless you want to believe Felger's latest conspiracy that there's tension between Gronk and BB and BB might hold him out to show him who's boss. Of course squeaky Mazz not only finds this plausible but definitely think's they've been playing games in the media and gave him the black shirt in practice to tweak him.
I put it on this show for 5 minutes thinking Gronk's back, the Sox win, might be good to listen today and they come up with this ****, back to banning them.

Agreed, it's pretty lame. Definitely prefer it when players are a little less about the self-promotion, but as long as he's steamrolling guys on Sunday I'm sure I'll find a way to look past it.

I hope I can find a way to look past it.
But I remember WW making some EXTREMELY funny foot puns at the expense of Rex Ryan and being benched for the start of a VERY important football game for them. I almost feel like if a couple of quirky quips before a Jets game is cause for punishment, then what on earth does a video and t-shirt release warrant?
I also admit that I really bought into the 2001-era team first/character thing. I feel like after years of watching the team struggle to find any sort of identity (and losing all along the way)... when the identity DID emerge and they started winning I was EXTREMELY proud of who the team was. It felt like legit character guys that were better than those around them were taking the field on Sundays and actually beating some of the hooligans, thugs, and egos on other teams. And it was awesome. And they got introduced together as a team when they ran through those gates. Gosh it was just so inspiring.
Then we experimented with Haynesworth, found out one of the team is a murderer, and now we've got this doofus pimping himself over an injury status.
I love the Pats and by extension these players, but at some point I'm going to wonder where my team is.
Maybe that's too deep of thinking for football. I'm probably just cranky because I haven't eaten.
The WW thing was different. He took a shot at an opposing coach and his family I guess so BB felt it was necessary. What gronk does outside of football, as long as it doesnt show the pats in a -ve light, dont think matters to BB to take any action. Totally irrelevant except it makes gronk look stupid -video and t shirt.I hope I can find a way to look past it.

Yeah, but if he doesnt perform as per expectations early on, all this can backfire. I dont know how someone who isnt cleared has time to create promo videos. Sure they were shot when he was rehabbing but a lot of it was just to promote. Hate to quote Albert breer but he said it right - for someone who acts and is portrayed as a grown up goofy kid, he is a capitalist.

I love these comments. Oh my oh my, how, just how does he find the time!
A shoot as simple as this, recorded during rehab, using some actual footage, and a 5 minute sitdown talking over the video clips. Yeah, I bet it took maybe 4 or 5 combined hours of Gronk's time over the past few months for his part.
Stop with these stupid comments aimed to attack a players motives. While these guys dedicate most of their days to football, they still get days off and they probably put in 8-12 hours a day of work depending on the agenda for that day. I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, but every day has 24 hours in it. That's a lot of hours, these players DO have free time, believe it or not.
I know, I know, it's crazy, right? We should write our congressmen and women and make it a law that these players must devote 16 hours a day to football and 8 hours of sleep per night. But hey, that's not the law.
If Gronk wants to promote himself, whatever, he's still maturing, he's probably the most talented and most impactful player on our team when he's playing. As long as his way of fun is some drinking nights and doing some self promotion and not putting harmful/banned substances into his body, we should look the other way.
There are far worse personalities in the NFL, if the team has an issue with it, they'll deal with it. Fans are too dead set on "the patriot way" and feel it must be enforced like marshal law and anything that sways just a tiny bit from it should be destroyed, it's sad. We're fans, we're supposed to have fun, football is a game.
The coaches coach, the players play, and we enjoy.
So.....
Brady
Ridley
Solder
Mankins
Wendell
Cannon/Connolly
Vollmer
Gronk
OHOH
Edelman
