guys listening to post game with troy brown? they all hate where this is headed when aikmen tonight said basically who the source was...tom brady

Mankins also not denying it

Are you referring to Mankins' comments on CSNNE regarding Gronk? I thought his response to a question on Gronk was extremely passive-aggressive.

Say what you want about ESPN, but they way Mankins was speaking tells me that we should lend a bit of credence to the report. Honestly, I think Gronkowski has played his last game in a Patriots' uniform.

I see your two dots. I don't at all understand why you're choosing to connect them.

Aikman claimed that Brady said "what" specifically?

What exactly did Mankins not deny?

I can't hear or watch the postgame report w/Brown. I am out of town.

Mankins was asked about the Gronk situation and if it was causing any issues in the locker room. Mankins said that he'd prefer to talk about the Saints game. Can't really say I blame him.

Honestly, I think Gronkowski has played his last game in a Patriots' uniform.

So, just for argument's sake--let's examine their option(s) for how he'd have played his last game in a Pats uni:

--trade? (the only reasonable option)

Why would they explore a trade at this moment in time when his stock is at an all-time low?

Thanks.

In my opinion, the worst case scenario we're currently looking at is either having him come back for the NYJ or MIA game, or having him wait and come back in another month after the bye.

I see no actual reasoning to IR'ing him for the year, trading him, etc...

It's possible that I'm missing something, but I'd think that there could only be so much animosity that could develop in 1 month's time (past 3-4 weeks), and even that would be overridden by the understanding of obvious talent that he brings now and for the future.

Rob Gronkowski did not personally perform four surgeries on his forearm.

If anything, the New England Patriots medical staff needs to be completely overhauled.

Thanks.

Yeah, and this seems like the kind of thing that should be all forgotten once he is on the field. It's not like players are going to be mad at him once he's out there laying out linebackers and bouncing off safeties.

Oh, come on, man. Read between the lines. He was saying a lot more than just that he'd prefer to talk about the Saints game.

Here's the exact quote:

"I'd rather talk about the guys that fricken put on the line tonight and played their butts off. KT making a huge catch. Tom throwing a perfect ball. The defense stepping it up. Gostkowski making big field goals. Let's talk about those guys."

Why were Terry Glenn and Randy Moss traded when their stocks were at an all-time low? Because the coaching staff and their teammates turned on them.

The Pats were coming off a big win. Let the guy enjoy it. He was perfectly entitled to it and was under no obligation to give the media a quote in their hourly Gronk update.

And I get how you could read more into that, but how do you get from that to Gronk never playing for the Pats again? So Mankins might be upset. What does that have to do with anything?

I don't think the comparison to those players is really accurate, do you?

Were there reports (right, wrong, or indifferent) about Glenn or Moss potentially never being able to play an NFL game again when they were traded? I don't think so.

Why would they trade him? And what team is going to give them what they'd want or be able to get by keeping him for awhile longer even IF they actually wanted to trade him?

Mankins also not denying it

That's Felger trying to stir the pot just like he was this week after Brady's Wednesday press conference.

IIRC, Aikman said during the game that Gronkowski was looking like the best player in practice (which may have been hyperbole). Brady said a similar thing when asked a question at his Wednesday press conference, that Gronk looks like Gronk to him on the practice field.

But as we know a lot of guys look good in practice (cough cough Sudfeld cough cough) but it might not translate to an actual game.

I just saw that 1:15 clip of Logan's comment, and I don't have any idea what you're even talking about....

I saw a guy who wants to keep the positivity at the forefront of the night, instead of re-visiting a tired old issue that they've been dealing with for over a month now. What is the harm of that? More importantly, "what" did he say that was even remotely controversial?

What would you expect him or want him to say? He answered the question exactly like Belichick would've answered it.

Talk about trying to find something that isn't there!

The majority of Felger and Mazz's Patriots talk tomorrow will be stirring the pot on this.

Geez---judging by some of the comments I was reading, I'd have thought that there was actually something of substance that was said...

I heard Aikman say that during the game, but I had no idea that anyone was trying to read into some kind of negativity about it, same with Mankins' comment. I don't find one single moment of it controversial in the least.

It's 100% exactly, word for word what I'd expect any one of the leaders on the team to do---shift the focus to the positives that just occurred on the actual field, and explain that there's nothing that can be done about a player who isn't here.

I think some of these negative nancies who are trying to stir the pot haven't heard many comments or pressers from Belichick and the leaders of this team--because I see absolutely nothing wrong at all. Maybe I'm just used to the shifting/re-focusing of the questions after all of these years?

I don't think the problem lies with Gronk in the future being 100% physically ready,I think the problem lies with Gronk not being 100% mentally ready to return to a violent game.

I think the injury will be in his head more than damage in his arm for quite a long time,I could definitely see him hesitate going over the middle and making hard contact with a defender in fear that he might do permanent damage to his arm and perhaps reinjure his back and that would lead to affecting his play for sure.

Lets all face it,Gronk isn't the most intelligent player in the NFL and I could see this situation being a mental one to a guy that still has to grow up a bit yet.

We may see Gronk on the field again soon, but I really wonder if its just going to be a stranger wearing #87 and not the once most dominating TE in the game.

Football is 50% mental and 50% physical...Where Gronk ends up being within those percentages remains to be seen when/if he returns.

They took the line from mankins "Guys who are putting it on the line" and went from there
