Enough "pink" already!

As a woman, I never thought this was a marketing ploy for women. It's marketed as breast cancer touches everyone, mothers, sisters, wives, daughters (and even sometimes your male relatives).

Football 101 is marketing for women. Fighting breast cancer is not. I just think they've gone too far with the gimmick and they should have a few pink things for one week and give the rest of the $$ they would have spent on pink stuff to the cause itself. On a related note, my 15 year old (when he saw what I was posting about) said he thinks the pinks stuff looks "cool." So there you go. Different opinions on a serious topic.

If people lived a healthier lifestyle...this wouldn't be such a fa king huge battle...but, we love to live life on the fringe.

The point of the campaigns is to raise awareness.

It's fair to say that it appears to be working, but the people running the campaign believe it needs to continue.

It's as much about men watching the game being able to talk about the disease with their partners or daughters as it is women.

Its attempting to make it a subject for normal family conversation so women go and get the exam.

Many health issues make people squeamish or uncomfortable when talking about it, this is what they are trying to overcome.

Maybe just put aside the mild inconvenience it seems to create, its not ruining your life.

OK..but NOW I want equal and completely fair representation of MY man gland's propensity for cancer...I mean, since we're raising awareness and shyt...it's about all the women I watch NFL football with talking about prostate issues and getting me to go and have ol' doc steelfinger massage my little Joker bank...I mean, it makes total sense since it is FAR FAR FAR more squeamish and uncomfortable talking about it than breasts...and if you don't believe me, just do it a little social experiment next time you're out with the guys and gals...start off talking about breasts and then make a switch to prostates...see how long the party lasts...and if you're single, bet on going home alone.

Can't wait for all the shoes and stickers and other carnival crap to be sported and flaunted all over the stadiums of the NFL and on national TV...I'd say cream colored would do it...right?

I'm sure a campaign is on it's way.

I wonder if they will have a necrotizing fasciitis month?...I'm sure they could work out the spray bottles of HCL acid to use to eat away at the players helmets and shoes...bring the kids!

Let's not kid ourselves. It's needlessly browbeating men for a month as a way for the NFL to ingratiate itself with certain 'other' demographics.

When the NFL starts a testicular cancer campaign like "Feel my balls and check for swelling", come back and sing us the song about "Its attempting to make it a subject for normal family conversation..."

I think breast cancer awareness focuses on the problem. Please join me in focusing on healthy breasts.

It's on it's way. We just had a campaign here with the catch phrase "Get Some Balls" featuring football legends from days past clutching their balls of choice, it was a bit corny and the kids giggled.

It's just not worth getting upset about.

Some others.

Now that is something I can get behind, er I mean, get in front of.

Many obviously disagree, although I think the use of "upset" is a bit over-the-top. "Annoyed" is more appropriate, based upon what I've seen and heard.

I thought this was interesting. The top 5 killer diseases in women:
1. Heart Disease
2. Stroke
3. Lung Cancer
4. COPD
5. Breast Cancer

Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women. It just doesn't kill the most women. For those of you who want to see brown month. Another site said colorectal cancer killed more women than breast cancer. Edit: Wait, CDC says breast cancer kills more women than colorectal does.

Yeah its not about the many women who go through hell, have their lives torn apart or die from the disease, its about saving boobies. Some people should know when to just not comment.
Now now.... such comments are allowed...... there is a breast cancer research foundation with the motto "Save the ta-tas"..... I see those bumper stickers every once in a while.......

The pink / breast cancer awareness campaign has been around for years and has been a huge success. The cancer awareness that SHOULD be at the forefront in the NFL is prostate cancer.

For the life of me I honestly don't know why the NFL doesn't do something about prostate cancer awareness. It's one of the most common cancers in men and has a high cure rate if caught early.

We all joke about getting the digital rectal exam and some guys like to pretend it's not something we should monitor as we get older. The NFL viewership is probably about 95% male and yet the NFL totally ignores a potential deadly cancer in that very demographic. It Defies logic.

there are more new cases of prostrate cancer each year in the U.S. than any other type of cancer.

wemon always find a way to intrude on our sports games

if the NFL did prostrate cancer, id like to see that symbol, lol
