PFT: Gronk unlikely to return vs. the Bengals

Holding him out means less tape for NO to watch.

Smith sounds unsure of the source, to say the least and added a caveat in the article to cover his bases. That said, if Gronk is not ready to go then he should be held out until he is ready. He's far too important to the team to rush back.

this is getting old. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

How so? Aside from Brady, Gronk is the most important piece to the passing game and opens up a lot in the running game through his blocking. The team is also 4-0 at the quarter mark. Again, there's no need to rush him back if he isn't ready to play yet.

But also, do you really trust that site? Last week they said that Gronk and the Pats were at odds. Then they said they on the same side. Those guys are all over the place. Just wait till Saturday and they will post that Gronk is likely to play.

Hear you but on the flip side, every game is key and Gronk not being there makes it harder to win.

Let's say the Pats lose to Cinci and Gronk comes back against NO.

Two things are at play. One, Gronk hasn't had a game to acclimate so he will be a bit rusty or not as ready as he would be if he had played in week 5. Two, NO is really good and will be a challenge with or without Gronk.

My gut is that there are people in Gronk's camp who are being too cautious and this is their fault. My gut is that he's ready. I have NO WAY of knowing if my gut is just wrong.

According to scott pioli last week, BB only listens to the doctors and the players. If he is not ready , he is not ready. I will believe that .Only he knows how he feels, everyone else is speculating according to what makes them feel good.
All the PFT and schefter etc dont know anything but feel the need to say something everyday behind a 'source'.

Drew Rosenhaus is an investor in PFT. I am sure Florio's source is him. But it sounds like it isn't definite.

On the other hand, I heard several people on the radio this week say they are getting the feeling that Amendola will be back this game.

Glazer had all these guys beat. Went on the FOX pregame last weekend and said Week 6.

We don't need gronk to beat the bengals. another week to get back to full strength isnt a big deal

As long as we have a healthy Gronk in January and February I could care less if he comes back week 5 or week 17. Just for cripes sake be healthy for the playoffs.

there are still 11 more games and the playoffs after this week so there is no reason to rush Gronk and Amendola back

LOL at me hoping for a week 3 return :bricks:

only one more week of inactivity left for all of the bar stool experts to ***** about BB not putting him on PUP.
