I agree that he wouldn't answer it directly -- "I tell them x." And your'e right that most coaches wouldn't. But they certainly do answer stuff like this indirectly all the time. In fact, I think BB did answer it indirectly a bit, by bringing up the 2004 Dolphins game. For all the criticism of Holley, this is actually an insightful snippet that he drew out of BB -- even by asking poorly conceived questions.

I can imagine BB telling the team, "let me tell you about what happened in 2004." I think it's not a coincidence that BB pulled this nugget out during the interview -- it was nearly a decade ago and still resonates with him obviously, and I'm sure he's used it with the players at times. Maybe I'm being silly here, but I love the Patriots and thinking about this stuff, and even if a reporter has uncomfortable moments asking questions that seem stupid, it enhances my enjoyment of football.

Clearly Holley had an off day but their interviews with BB have not been good this year, they've all been uncomfortable. The questions were either stupid or phrased badly. That said I prefer BB when he's grouchy and makes the mediots squirm.

The interview was painful to listen to as most of Belechek's interviews are. I'm surprised that Holley asked such a dumb question knowing that Bill doesn't suffer fools. I don't know why anyone would interview Belechek as hehas never said anything except the same old blah, blah, blah. It's obvious that he'd rather be doing something else instead of wasting his time with mere mortals. Holley has problems with his cohost, like a swimmer with a 100# anchor strapped to his ankle. The station better get someone and Curran would be a good selection.

Holley completely blew it with that question.

I think we have all laughed all of Bill's press conferences where he "talks up" the opposition even when they are 0-12 and you start to think the team must be 12-0 by his description. Maybe Holley should have worded the question more about Bill's press conferences than how he prepares the team.

Or else, if he was talking about the team, maybe he is curious if Bill ever looks ahead. Let's say you are playing a team on Sunday that is 0-11, but you have to play a team the next week that is undefeated. Might even have to travel that 2nd week, making it a shorter practice week. Do you do any prep for that undefeated team early? Personally, I doubt it since I think it could confuse the players and I just can't see Bill overlooking anyone.

I grew up outside boston but moved to chicago years ago, and just listen to these spots online.

I remember a couple years ago it was at least one of his former players in there and it was a pretty cool laid back chit chat that I really liked, but all this year these 2 nitwits have been terrible.

who are these guys and what happened to the other guys??
